Todor Kobabkov has been tapped to score the upcoming BET mini-series Madiba. The drama is directed by Kevin Hooks (Prison Break, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and stars Laurence Fishburne as Nelson Mandela, alongside Orlando Jones, David Harewood, Michael Nyqvist and Terry Pheto. The 3-parter is based on two Mandela autobiographies, Conversations With Myself and Nelson Mandela by Himself and tells the story of a younger Nelson Mandela during the early-60s as he deals with the political unrest engulfing South Africa. Jeff Beal is composing the original music for the upcoming documentary An Inconvenient Sequel. The film directed by Bonni Cohen & Jon Shenk (The Island President, Audrie & Daisy) is the sequel to the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth and follows Vice President Al Gore as he continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Richard Berge (The Rape of Europa) and Diane Weyermann (Citizenfour) are producing the project. Davis Guggenheim (Waiting for Superman, He Named Me Malala) who helmed the Academy Award-winning original film (scored by Michael Brook) serves as an executive producer on the project.
