braindeadPremiering tomorrow, June 13, is the new CBS drama BrainDead created by Robert & Michelle King and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Tveit, Danny Pino, Nikki M. James and Tony Shalhoub. The show’s original music is composed by David Buckley (The Nice Guys, Jason Bourne, The Forbidden Kingdom, From Paris with Love) who previously scored CBS’ The Good Wife for the creators. animal-kingdomPremiering on Tuesday, June 14, is the TNT original series Animal Kingdom developed by Jonathan Lisco based on the 2010 Australian feature of the same title and starring Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman and Shawn Hatosy. Alexis & Sam (Equity, Lila & Eve, We’ll Never Have Paris) are scoring the show and Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Book of Eli) has composed the series’ main titles theme. Raney Shockne has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS comedy Kevin Can Wait. The show is created by Bruce Helford, Rock Reuben (The King of Queens, Zookeeper, Here Comes the Boom) and Kevin James who also stars in the series with Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler, Ryan Cartwright, Mary-Charles Jones, James DiGiacomo, Leonard Earl Howze, Gary Valentine and Lenny Venito. The comedy follows a newly retired police officer who looks forward to spending more quality time with his family only to discover he faces much tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. ‘Jason Bourne’ Soundtrack Details

jason-bourneBack Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the action thriller Jason Bourne. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Happy Feet, Shrek, United 93, Kung Fu Panda) who previously scored the first three parts in the series and David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Nice Guys, The Forbidden Kingdom). Also included is a new version of Moby’s Extreme Ways. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

warcraftOpening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Warcraft directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Person of Interest). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Chu and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou, Sanaa Lathan, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3,  Thor: The Dark World, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). ‘Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie’ Soundtrack Announced

absolutely-fabulousRhino Records will release a soundtrack album for the British comedy Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. The album features the songs from the film, including a new version of the Absolutely Fabulous theme song This Wheel’s On Fire performed by Kylie Minogue, as well as tracks by Jason Derulo, Paloma Faith and La Roux, Serge Gainsbourg, Nancy Sinatra and Leonard Cohen, as well as live cast recordings from the movie. Also included is a suite from the film’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Playing It Cool). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 22, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is directed by Mandie Fletcher and stars Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, Jane Horrocks and June Whitfield. indiana-jonesSteven Spielberg mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the red carpet at last night’s AFI Gala in his honor that John Williams will return to score the fifth, currently untitled Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford will return in the title role. No plot details or other casting announcements have been made yet. Kathleen Kennedy (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park) and Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, The Bourne Trilogy, The Sixth Sense) will produce the project. blackwaySpinnup has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Blackway. The album features the film’s original music composed by Klas Wahl & Anders Niska (The Master Plan). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. Blackway is directed by Daniel Alfredson and stars Anthony Hopkins, Julia Stiles, Alexander Ludwig, Ray Liotta and Hal Holbrook. The movie is set in the rugged Pacific Northwest and follows a logger still grieving over the loss of his daughter who comes to the aid of a young woman who is being harassed by a local crime lord and helps hunt down her stalker. The album features the songs from the film performed by the movie’s stars Lily-Rose Depp & Harley Quinn Smith, as well such artists as Love Lola Love, The Glam Skanks, Kid Moxie, Terence Trent D’Arby and Cheerleader. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 10 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Yoga Hosers is written and directed by Smith and also stars Justin Long, Austin Butler, Tyler Posey, Adam Brody, Ralph Garman, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne and Johnny Depp. The movie follows two 15-year-old yoga enthusiasts who hate their after-school jobs at a Manitoba convenience store and team of with Depp’s manhunter character from Tusk to battle an ancient evil. John Williams to Score Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One’

john-williamsJohn Williams revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he is set to begin work on Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film adaptation of Ready Player One this coming November. The film will star Tye Sheridan, Oliva Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Win Morisaki, Mark Rylance, Simon Pegg and T.J Miller. The movie is based on the 2011 novel of the same title by Ernest Cline and follows a group of teenagers on a quest for riches in a futuristic virtual world. Spielberg is also producing the project with Donald De Line (The Italian Job, Green Lantern), Kristie Macosko Krieger (Bridge of Spies) and Dan Farah (Armored).  Read the rest of this entry »

lego-batman-movieLorne Balfe is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated feature The Lego Batman Movie. The film is directed by Chris McKay (Robot Chicken) and features the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Ralph Fiennes. The movie is a spin-off of 2014’s The Lego Movie and follows Batman as he has to drop the lone vigilante thing and work with others in hopes to save Gotham City from Joker’s hostile takeover. Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) has written the screenplay.
