Caldera Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1970 western Soldier Blue directed by Ralph Nelson and starring Candice Bergen, Peter Strauss, Donald Pleasence, Dana Elcar and John Anderson. The album includes the first-ever release of the original film recording of the movie’s original score composed by Roy Budd (Get Carter, The Wild Geese, The Sea Wolves, Kidnapped, Flight of the Doves). The movie features interviews with those involved – including the law enforcement officers who cracked the case – alongside reenactments that bring viewers into the paranoia of the victim’s four year nightmare. The film’s original score is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout/Dead Reckoning, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, His Dark Materials). Platoon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, an original song performed by Ariana DeBose, Boy George & Nile Rodgers (also available separately as a digital single), as well as an additional song today. Opening semi-wide in around 700 theaters is the comedy Scrambled written and directed by Leah McKendrick and starring McKendrick herself, Ego Nwodim, Andrew Santino, Adam Rodriguez, Clancy Brown and Laura Cerón. Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive, Z, Torn Hearts) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced.
