Christopher Lennertz has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming crime comedy The Happytime Murders. The film is directed by Brian Henson and stars Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale and Elizabeth Banks. The movie follows two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human and one puppet, who are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show. ‘Gotti’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Gotti. The album features the film’s original score composed by Pitbull (aka Armando Christian Perez) and Jorge Gomez. Also included is the original end credits song Amore by Pitbull feat. Leona Lewis. The soundtrack is expected to released later this week and will be available to download on Amazon. Gotti is directed by Kevin Connolly and stars John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Ella Bleu Travolta, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Stacy Keach, Chris Mulkey, Lydia Hull and Spencer Lofranco. The movie tells the story of John Gotti, the flamboyant head of the Gambino crime family who spent the last decade of his life in prison before dying of throat cancer in 2002. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rafa Arnau (Camino, Mortadelo and Filemon: Mission Implausible). Premiering on Thursday, June 14, is the new CBS All Access original series Strange Angel created by Mark Heyman based on George Pendle’s book of the same title and starring Jack Reynor, Rupert Friend, Bella Heathcote, Michael Gaston and Greg Wise. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, The Exorcist). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the drama.
Premiering on Friday, June 15, is the Netflix original movie Set It Up directed by Claire Scanlon and starring Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu. Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Taken mini-series, Step) has composed the film’s original score. Netflix has announced this week that hip hop producer Young Chop is providing original music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Beats. The film is directed by Chris Robinson (ATL) and stars Anthony Anderson, Khalil Everage, Uzo Aduba, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Paul Walter Hauser and hip hop artists Dave East and Dreezy. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the heist comedy Ocean’s 8 directed by Gary Ross and starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., All the Money in the World). Also opening wide is the horror thriller Hereditary written and directed by Ari Aster and starring Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and Ann Dowd.
