Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Already playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Constance Wu, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding and Chris Pang. The film’s original score is composed by Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious series). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details), as well as a separate album featuring the songs from the movie (click here for more information).

Opening nationwide today is the action thriller Mile 22 directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, Ronda Rousey and John Malkovich. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, Legion, The Night Of) has composed the film’s original score. Quality Control Music, Motown Records and Capitol Records have released the original end credits song Is You Ready from Peter Berg’s action thriller Mile 22. The track is performed by Migos (aka Quavious Marshall, Kiari Kendrell Cephus & Kirshnik Khair Ball) who also co-wrote it with Jeremy Coleman and Saul Alexander Castillo Vasquez. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. ‘Minding the Gap’ Soundtrack Released

Copticon Music has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu documentary Minding the Gap. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Rich Hill, One Percent More Humid) and Chris Ruggiero. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Minding the Gap is directed by Bing Liu and follows the filmmaker as he searches for correlations between his skateboarder friends’ turbulent upbringings and the complexities of modern-day masculinity. The documentary produced by Steve James premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Filmmaking and is being released today in select theaters by Magnolia Pictures and on Hulu. ‘The Sisters Brothers’ Soundtrack Details

Why Not Productions & Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Jacques Audiard’s western comedy The Sisters Brothers. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla, The King’s Speech). The soundtrack is set to be released overseas on September 14 and in the U.S. on October 12. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album. The Sisters Brothers is co-written and directed by Audiard and stars Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal and Riz Ahmed. ‘Black Panther’ – Wakanda Remixed Album Released

Marvel Music and Hollywood Records have released an EP featuring five remixes of the score for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther composed by Ludwig Goransson (Creed, Community, Venom, Fruitvale Station). In addition to Goranssson himself, DJ Dahi, WondaGurl and Uzowuru & Kleinman have contributed tracks to the album based on the film score to the hit movie directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Andy Serkis. ‘Valley of Shadows’ Soundtrack Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the Norwegian mystery drama Valley of Shadows (Skyggenes Dal). The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Zbigniew Preisner (The Secret Garden, When a Man Loves a Woman, Three Colors). Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Whale Rider) is featured as a vocalist on the composer’s score. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Valley of Shadows is co-written and directed by Jonas Matzow Gulbrandsen and stars Adam Ekeli, Kathrine Fagerland, John Olav Nilsen, Lennard Salamon and Jørgen Langhelle. Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for the ABC drama Once Upon a Time. The album features selections of the original music from the seventh and final season of the show composed by Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, The Accountant, Miracle), Cindy O. Connor (Not Forgotten) and Michael D. Simon (The Squeeze) who all received an Emmy Award nomination this year for their score for the series finale Leaving Storybrooke. The soundtrack will be available to download as a digital album tomorrow, August 17 (click here to download). Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Destination Wedding. The album features the film’s original music composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, My Dog Skip, Ladder 49, Tin Cup, The Tale of Despereaux). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Destination Wedding is written and directed by Victor Levin and stars Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves. Mateo Messina has signed to score the upcoming NBC comedy I Feel Bad. The show is created by Aseem Batra (Marlon, Scrubs) and stars Sarayu Blue, Paul Adelstein, Zach Cherry, James Buckley, Aisling Bea and Johnny Pemberton. The series is inspired by Orli Auslander’s book I Feel Bad: All Day. Every Day. About Everything and shows one woman’s unfiltered take on the side effects of trying to have it all. Batra is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Amy Poehler (Difficult People, Broad City), Dave Becky (Master of None, Insecure), Josh Maurer (Howards End) and Julie Anne Robinson (The Last Song, One for the Money) who also directed the pilot episode. TLM Music will release a soundtrack album for the new live-action movie adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The album features the the film’s original score composed and conducted by Jeremy Rubolino (Walt Before Mickey), as well the songs When This Story Ends performed by lead actress Poppy Drayton and This Heart of Mine performed by Sophia Pizzulo. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 17 and will be available to download on Amazon.
