Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Prodigy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Prodigy is directed by Nicholas McCarthy and stars Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Peter Mooney and Colm Feore. Sony Classical will release a score album for the documentary Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Book of Life, The Motorcycle Diaries, 28 Grams). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow and will be available to download on Amazon. Universal Music has previously released a soundtrack album featuring Clapton’s songs from the movie. Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars is directed by Lili Fini Zanuck and takes a look into the life of the legendary 18-time Grammy Award winning guitarist and multi-million selling recording artist. Marvel Music and Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for Marvel’s Netflix original series The Punisher. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, John Wick). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 18 and will be available to download here. The labels have previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from the first season. Producers Anita Greenspan and pro-skater Tony Hawk with executive producer Adam Zotovich announced today that a new musical adaptation of the 2007 Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) novel, SLAM, is in development. Film composer Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums) is writing the music and lyrics for the project, which will feature a book by Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical).
