The film is directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) and stars Jodie Comer, ​Aaron Taylor-Johnson, ​Jack O’Connell, ​Alfie Williams ​and Ralph Fiennes. The movie takes place 28 years after the events of the 2002 original 28 Days Later film and its sequel 28 Weeks Later (both scored by John Murphy) and follows a group of survivors who have found ways to exist amidst the infected on a small island. When one of them leaves the island on a mission into the heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.
