The album features the film’s original music composed by Johan Söderqvist (Let the Right One In, Kon-Tiki, After the Wedding, In a Better World, The King’s Choice). BBC Studios has announced that Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea will compose the theme and score for the upcoming BBC Earth natural history series One Planet, Seven Worlds. The show is presented and executive produced by Sir David Attenborough and will reveal how each distinct continent has shaped the unique animal life found there. Premiering on Friday, February 22 is the Netflix original movie Paddleton co-written and directed by Alex Lehmann and starring Mark Duplass, Ray Romano, Ravi Patel and Christine Woods. The film’s original music is composed by Julian Wass (Hit and Run, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Room 104, Insatiable, The Overnight). Also premiering on Friday in the U.S. is the Spanish drama The Photographer of Mauthausen (El fotografo de Mauthausen) directed by Mar Targarona and starring Mario Casas, Richard van Weyden and Alain Hernández. Diego Navarro (Capture the Flag, Mimesis) has composed the film’s original music. Rosetta Records has released a soundtrack album last fall when the movie opened overseas. Bette Midler has announced that she will be performing the original song The Place Where Lost Things Go from Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. Jeff Toyne (Rogue, Dirty Girl, 9/11, You Me Her) has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller Daughter of the Wolf. The film is directed by David Hackl (Saw V, Into the Grizzly Maze) and stars Richard Dreyfuss, Gina Carano, Brendan Fehr, Anton Gillis-Adelman and Sydelle Noel. The movie follows a woman who returns home from her tour in the Middle East to the news of her father’s passing. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure Alita: Battle Angel directed by Robert Rodriguez, produced by James Cameron and starring Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein and Jackie Earle Haley. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details). Also available now is the original end credits track Swan Song performed by Dua Lipa (click here for more information).
Also opening wide is the slasher sequel Happy Death Day 2U directed by Christopher Landon and starring Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Phi Vu, Suraj Sharma and Ruby Modine. ‘Superman: The Movie’ 40th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced the details for its latest limited edition soundtrack albums, including a 40th Anniversary Remastered Edition for Richard Donner’s 1978 classic Superman: The Movie starring Christopher Reeve, Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman and Margot Kidder. The 3-CD set features the film’s complete score composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark) on the first two discs (including alternate and additional cues), and a remastered version of the original 1978 soundtrack album on the third disc. Swoon is written and directed by Mans Marlind & Bjorn Stein and stars Pernilla August, Albin Grenholm, Frida Gustavsson and Robert Gustafson.
