Atlantic Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated musical UglyDolls. The album features the original songs from the movie written by Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Sausage Party, Ride Along) & Glenn Slater (Tangled, Galavant) and performed by Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monáe, Bebe Rexha, Blake Shelton, Why Don’t We, Petatonic, Anitta and Pitbull. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for Heather the Musical from the new musical episode of The CW’s Riverdale, entitled Big Fun. The album features the songs from the episode originally written by Laurence O’Keefe & Kevin Murphy for the Off-Broadway musical of the same title performed by cast members KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Camila Mendes, Ashleigh Murray, Casey Cott, Vanessa Morgan, Bernadette Beck, Zoé de Grand’Maison, Charles Melton, Jordan Connor and Drew Ray Tanner . The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 21 and will be available to download here. Siddhartha Khosla has signed on to score the upcoming Hulu limited series Looking for Alaska. The show is based on the novel of the same title by John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns) and stars Kristine Froseth and Charlie Plummer. The drama follows a teenager as he enrolls in boarding school, where falls in love with a girl, and after her unexpected death, he and his close friends attempt to uncover the truth behind her death and make sense of it. The album features the film’s original music composed by Fred Avril (The Lifeguard, Pearl, I Am Not an Easy Man). The film is directed by Lucky McKee (The Woman, RedAll Cheerleaders Die) and stars Thora Birch, Macon Blair, Sasha Frolova and Caitlin Stasey. The movie revolves around a single mother whose life is turned upside down when her sister comes home after a long unexplained absence. Fil Eisler has recently been recording his music for the upcoming Netflix original series What/If. The show is created by Mike Kelley (Revenge, Swingtown) and stars Renee Zellweger, Jane Levy, Blake Jenner and Daniella Pineda. The neo-noir drama follows a pair of cash-strapped newlyweds who accept a lucrative but morally dubious offer from a mysterious female benefactor. Kelley is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Melissa Loy for Page Fright, Alex Gartner (Get Smart, Triple Frontier) & Charles Roven (The Dark Knight, Wonder Woman) for Atlas Entertainment, as well as Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forest Gump) and Jack Rapke (Cast Away, Flight). La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1987 sci-fi drama Project X directed by Jonathan Kaplan and starring Matthew Broderick and Helen Hunt. The album features the remastered original score from the 20th Century Fox production composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, Aliens, Apollo 13, A Beautiful MindThe Amazing Spider-Man), including a previously unreleased track. The CD, which is limited to 1,500 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can listen to audio samples and find out more about the release.

The National members Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner have composed the original music for the upcoming documentary What Will Become of Us. The film is directed by Academy Award-nominated documentarian Steven Cantor (DancerStep) and centers on Sir Frank Lowy, the billionaire co-founder of Westfield Corporation as he faces a dilemma: whether or not to sell his multinational company, his life’s work and legacy. Dani Drusin, Jamie Schutz and Nina Chaudry are producing the project. Warner Music New Zealand has released a soundtrack album for the indie musical drama Daffodils. The album features the songs from the movie written by the Lips (aka Steph Brown & Fen Ikner) and performed by the New Zealand band and cast members Kimbra, Rose McIver and George Mason. The soundtrack is now available to stream on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Daffodils is directed by David Stubbs, written by Rochelle Bright and follows an indie musician who, after being told by her father on his death bed, recounts her parents’ bittersweet romance. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Carlo Mirabella-Davis and stars Haley Bennett, Austin Stowell, Elizabeth Marvel, David Rasche and Denis O’Hare. The movie follows a newly pregnant housewife who finds herself increasingly compelled to consume dangerous objects and must confront the dark secret behind her new obsession.
