Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 drama Monsignor directed by Frank Perry and starring Christopher Reeve, Genevieve Bujold, Fernando Rey, Adolfo Celi and Tomas Milian. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, E.T., Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park), including two previously unreleased cues plus several minutes of additional unreleased soundtrack versions recorded for the original 1982 album. The track list of the soundtrack album for the comic book movie Dark Phoenix have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Inception, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dunkirk). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 7 by Fox Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. More details about a physical version are expected to be announced soon. Dark Phoenix directed by Simon Kinberg and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters and Jessica Chastain will be released in theaters nationwide this Friday by 20th Century Fox. Universal Music has announced the first soundtrack albums for the Netflix original series Lilyhammer featuring features selections from the show’s original music composed by actor/musician Steven Van Zandt. The music will be released as two separate albums – Lilyhammer The Score – Volume 1: Jazz and Volume 2: Folk, Rock, Rio, Bits And Pieces – on July 12, 2019. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album for the FX original series Fosse/Verdon. The album features the songs from the series, as well other musical highlights and the show’s theme by the project’s music director Alex Lacamoire. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The label has previously released eight digital singles for all episodes of the series. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the monster movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters directed by Mike Dougherty and starring Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler and Millie Bobby Brown. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the biographical musical drama Rocketman directed by Dexter Fletcher and starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Gemma Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard. Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle) has composed the film’s original score. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the Elton John songs featured in the movie performed by Egerton, as well as an original song performed by John & Egerton.
