Stephen Warbeck has recently composed the music for the upcoming French romantic comedy Arctic Heart (Le secret des banquises). The film is written and directed by Marie Madinier and stars Guillaume Canet, Charlotte Le Bon, Anne Le Ny, Patrick D’Assumçao and Damien Chapelle. The movie follows a timid young grad student who is madly in love with her scientist boss and offers her body to his research. Kristina Larsen (Farewell, My Queen, Diary of a Chambermaid) is producing the project.

Alexandre Desplat Scoring ‘France’ Documentary
Alexandre Desplat is scoring the upcoming French documentary France (Les habitants). The film is directed by Raymond Depardon (Journal de France) and follows the filmmaker as he drives through France, from the north to the south, and stops in front of homes and places of business to meet the people of France. Claudine Nougaret is producing the project for Palmeraie et Désert. The documentary will be released in France on April 27, 2016. Check out a teaser trailer for the film after the jump.
Carlo Siliotto Scoring ‘Miracles from Heaven’
Carlo Siliotto has composed the music for the upcoming drama Miracles from Heaven. The film is directed by Patricia Riggen and stars Jennifer Garner, Martin Henderson, John Carroll Lynch, Kylie Rogers, Eugenio Derbez and Queen Latifah. The movie is based on the book by Christy Beam and follows a woman whose daughter has a rare, incurable disease and becomes a ferocious advocate for her child’s healing as she searches for a solution. Randy Brown (Trouble with the Curve) has written the screenplay. Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Oz the Great and Powerful), T.D. Jakes (Heaven Is for Real, Jumping the Broom) and DeVon Franklin are producing the project.
Harry Gregson-Williams to Score ‘Alien: Covenant’ & Ben Affleck’s ‘Live by Night’
Harry Gregson-Williams confirmed in a recent video interview with Film.Music.Media that he is attached to score Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant. The film is set to star Michael Fassbender who will reprise his role from Prometheus, as well as Katherine Waterstone. The movie follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant that discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark world whose sole inhabitant is David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. Gregson-Williams has previously scored Scott’s 2005 feature Kingdom of Heaven, as well as last year’s The Martian.
Michael Giacchino to Score Colin Trevorrow’s ‘The Book of Henry’
Director Colin Trevorrow announced on Twitter that Michael Giacchino will be composing the music for the upcoming drama The Book of Henry. The film stars Naomi Watts, Jacob Tremblay, Jaeden Lieberher, Dean Norris, Lee Pace, Sarah Silverman, Maddie Ziegler and Bobby Moynihan. The movie follows a single mother who raises a genius boy. Gregg Hurwitz has written the screenplay. Sidney Kimmel (The Place Beyond the Pines, Lars and the Real Girls, The Age of Adaline) and Carla Hacken are producing the project with Jenette Kahn & Adam Richman (The Flock). Giacchino and Trevorrow have previously collaborated on last year’s record-breaking Jurassic World.
Rob Scoring ‘Amityville: The Awakening’
Rob aka Robin Coudert has composed the music for the upcoming horror thriller Amityville: The Awakening. The film is written and directed by Franck Khalfoun (P2) and stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan, Thomas Mann, Jennifer Morrison and Kurtwood Smith. The movie follows a single mother who moves her three children into the haunted house not knowing of the house’s bloody history. Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activy, The Purge) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company, alongside Daniel Farrands (The Haunting in Connecticut) and Casey La Scala (Cypher, The Remaining).
Dickon Hinchliffe Scoring Ricky Gervais’ ‘Special Correspondents’
Dickon Hinchliffe has composed the music for the Netflix original movie Special Correspondents. The film is written and directed by Ricky Gervais (The Office, The Invention of Lying) who also stars in the movie alongside Eric Bana,Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollak, America Ferrera, Raúl Castillo and Benjamin Bratt. The comedy is based on the 2009 French film of the same title and follows a New York-based radio journalist who decides to fake front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Queens.
Christopher Lennertz Scoring ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’
Christopher Lennertz is composing the score for the upcoming romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. The movie is directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, Everybody’s Fine, Waking Ned Devine) and stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Lainie Kazan, Michael Constantine, Andrea Martin, Ian Gomez, Alex Wolff, Elena Kampouris, John Stamos, Rita Wilson and Joey Faton. The sequel follows as Toula and Ian are struggling to find time for each other while managing their lives and a teenage daughter, while also having to deal with yet another Greeker wedding. Vardalos has also written the screenplay.
Guy Gross to Score Stephan Elliott’s ‘Flammable Children’
Guy Gross is set to reteam with director Stephan Elliott on the upcoming comedy Flammable Children. Guy Pearce and Radha Mitchell are attached to star in the movie, which is written and directed by Elliott. The film is set in an Australian beach suburb in the mid-1970s and follows a 14-year old boy who tries to find his feet in a world changing faster than his hormones, and deal with his crush on a shy and sensitive girl-next-door. Al Clark and Jamie Hilton are producing the project. Gross has previously collaborated with Elliott on films including The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, A Few Best Men, Frauds and Welcome to Woop Woop.
Micky Erbe & Maribeth Solomon Scoring IMAX Documentary ‘A Beautiful Planet’
Micky Erbe and Maribeth Solomon are reteaming with director Toni Myers on the upcoming IMAX documentary A Beautiful Planet. The movie, which is narrated by Jennifer Lawrence, is made in cooperation with NASA and features footage of planet Earth captured by the astronauts aboard the Internal Space Station (ISS). The film also centers on the effect humanity had on the planet over time. Myers is also producing the project. Erbe and Solomon have previously collaborated with the director on such films as Hubble 3D, Under the Sea 3D and Space Station 3D.
