Paramount Pictures has revealed the music credits for Martin Scorsese’s historical drama Silence today. Kim Allen Kluge and Kathryne Kluge have composed the film’s original score. Robbie Robertson serves as the movie’s executive music producer. He previously had the same role on several of the director’s features, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of New York and King of Comedy. Music supervisors are Randall Poster (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Hangover) who previously worked on Scorsese’s The Aviator, Hugo, The Wolf of Wall Street and Boardwalk Empire and John Schaefer. Silence starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Tadanobu Asano, Ciarán Hinds and Liam Neeson is set in the 17th century and centers on two Jesuit priests who face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and propagate Christianity.

Christopher Gordon Scoring ‘Out of the Shadows’
Christopher Gordon is composing the music for the upcoming Australian supernatural thriller Out of the Shadows. The film is directed by Dee McLachlan (The Jammed) and stars Blake Northfield, Kendal Rae, Jim Robison, Jake Ryan, Goran D. Kleut and Helmut Bakaitis. The movie revolves around a newly-wed detective who moves into his dream home unaware of the building’s dark history and seeks help from a renegade demonologist when his pregnant wife claims she is being tormented by a supernatural force. Northfield is also producing the thrill with Tim Maddocks (Terminus) and Jim Robison.
Jeff Toyne Scoring ‘Nine Eleven’
Jeff Toyne has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Nine Eleven. The film is directed by Martin Guigui (Beneath the Darkness, Cattle Call) and stars Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Luis Guzman, Wood Harris, Olga Fonda, Jacqueline Bisset and Gina Gershon. The movie follows a group of 5 people who find themselves trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on 9/11. Guigui has also co-written the screenplay with Steven Golebiowski. Martin Sprock, Dahlia Waingort and Warren Ostergard (The Bag Man) are producing the Thunder Studios and Sprockefeller Pictures production.
Adam Taylor Scoring Ry Russo-Young’s ‘Before I Fall’
Adam Taylor has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy drama Before I Fall. The film is directed by Ry Russo-Young (Nobody Walks) and stars Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Kian Lawley, Elena Kampouris, Diego Boneta, Jennifer Beals, Cynthy Wu and Medalion Rahimi. The movie is based on the 2010 novel of same title by Lauren Oliver and follows a young woman who is stuck reliving the day of her death during one inexplicable week and untangles the mystery surrounding her death. Maria Maggenti (Monte Carlo, The Love Letter) has written the screenplay.
James Newton Howard to Return for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2’
In addition to revealing his involvement in several new projects, James Newton Howard also confirmed at a press tour for his upcoming concert series in Europe and at the London premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that he will return to score the film’s sequel. David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Legend of Tarzan) who helmed the first part, which will be released this weekend, will also return to direct the movie. Also confirmed to return are actors Eddie Redmayne and Ezra Miller. Johnny Depp who makes a cameo appearance in the first installment has also joined the project.
James Newton Howard to Score Dan Gilroy’s ‘Inner City’
James Newton Howard is set to reunite with director Dan Gilroy on the upcoming dramatic thriller Inner City. The film is written and directed by Gilriy and will star Denzel Washington as an attorney for a big Los Angeles law firm who discovers some unfavorable things about his late partner and decides to right his wrongs. Jennifer Fox (Michael Clayton, Syriana) is producing the project with Escape Artists’ Todd Black (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Equalizer) and Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver (Black Swan, Rush, Everest). Howard has previously scored Gilroy’s 2014 directorial debut Nightcrawler.
James Newton Howard to Score Francis Lawrence’s ‘Red Sparrow’ & Disney’s ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’
James Newton Howard revealed during a press tour promoting his upcoming concert series that he will be reteaming with director Francis Lawrence on the spy thriller Red Sparrow. The film starring Jennifer Lawrence & Joel Edgerton is based on the Jason Matthews novel of the same name and is set in modern-day Russia in the intelligence bureaucracy. The movie follows a young woman who is drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress assigned to operate against a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) wrote the screenplay based on an earlier script by Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle). Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List, The Night Of) is producing the project with Garrett Basch.
Chris Bacon to Score Jonathan Levine’s Untitled ‘Mother/Daughter’ Movie
Chris Bacon has been hired to score Jonathan Levine’s untitled Mother/Daughter comedy. The film directed by Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies, The Night Before) stars Amy Schumer, Goldie Hawn, Christopher Meloni, Ike Barinholtz, Oscar Jaenada and Wanda Sykes. No plot details have been revealed yet. Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters, The Heat) has written the screenplay with Schumer and Kim Caramele (Inside Amy Schumer). Peter Chernin (Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Oblivion) and Jenno Topping (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, St. Vincent) are producing the project with Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and Jessie Henderson (Spy).
Clint Mansell to Score Rupert Sanders’ ‘Ghost in the Shell’
Director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) revealed at a media event in Tokyo this weekend that Clint Mansell is scoring the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The film is based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Masamune Shirow and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. The movie follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9, which is devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists and faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Mark Isham to Score Jennifer Morrison’s ‘Sun Dogs’
Mark Isham has signed on to score the upcoming comedy Sun Dogs. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress Jennifer Morrison from the Isham-scored ABC drama Once Upon a Time and stars herself, alongside Michael Angarano, Melissa Benoist, Allison Janney and Ed O’Neill. The movie follows a young misfit in his repeated failed attempts to join the Marines and serve his country. When his last interview fails, he sets his sights on a casino manager who may or may not be a terrorist mastermind. Anthony Tambakis (Warrior, Jane Got a Gun) wrote the screenplay.
