Rapper/record producer G-Eazy has made his film scoring debut on the upcoming indie horror thriller 18 & Over. The film is directed by Jimmy Giannopolous and stars Ashley Benson, Jon Foster, Jake Weary, Sky Ferreira, Luis Guzman, Duke Nicholson, Winnie Harlow, A$AP Nast, John Robinson, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson. G-Eazy also appears in the pandemic-inspired movie, which takes place when quarantine leads to a night of terror. Giannopolous co-wrote the screenplay with Diomedes Raul Bermudez who is also producing the project with Benson, Siena Oberman (Mainstream, The Sinners) and Cassius Corrigan.

Zoë Poledouris & Angel Roché Jr. to Score John D. Eraklis’ ‘Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk’
Zoë Poledouris & Angel Roché Jr. are teaming up to score the upcoming animated comedy Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk. The film marks the directorial debut of producer John D. Eraklis (Igor) and features the voices of will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson, Whoopi Goldberg, Howie Mandel, Kenan Thompson, Jennifer Coolidge, Luis Guzman, Domenick Lombardozzi, Paul Blackthorne, Jamal Trulove, Evan Ross and Ashley Simpson. The movie is set in New York City and follows the title character who was born out of forbidden love between a hawk and a pigeon and – rejected by both communities – sets out on an adventure to find himself and makes some new friends along the way.
Emile Mosseri to Score Jesse Eisenberg’s ‘When You Finish Saving the World’
Emile Mosseri (Minari, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Kajillionaire, Homecoming) has revealed in a recent interview with Next Best Picture that he is set to compose the music for actor Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial debut When You Finish Saving the World. The film is written and directed by Eisenberg and stars Julianne Moore, Finn Wolfhard, Alisha Boe and Billy Bryk. The comedy drama is based on Eisenberg’s Audible project of the same title, which was told from the perspective of three family members, at different stages of their lives. The movie adaptation is said to focus on the mother/son relationship.
Tom Howe to Score ‘The Amazing Maurice’ Animated Movie
Tom Howe (A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Early Man, Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, Charming) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature The Amazing Maurice. The film is directed by Toby Genkel (All Creatures Big And Small, Two by Two: Overboard!), co-directed by Florian Westermann and features the voices of Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, Himesh Patel, David Thewlis, Gemma Arterton and Hugh Bonneville. The movie is based on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novel Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents and a centers on streetwise cat who leads a band of educated ratty friends (and a dumb-looking kid) on a nice little earner. Terry Rossio (Shrek, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Mask of Zorro) wrote the screenplay.
Fil Eisler to Score Phillip Noyce’s ‘Lakewood’
Fil Eisler (Revenge, Empire, How to Be Single, UnReal, Superintelligence, Proud Mary, CHiPs) has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Lakewood. The film is directed by Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, Dead Calm, Salt) and stars Naomi Watts as a mother who desperately races against time to save her child as authorities place her small town on lockdown. Chris Sparling (Buried, Greenland) wrote the screenplay. Zack Schiller (Jane Got a Gun, The Babysitter) and David Boies are producing the project with Watts, Dylan Sellers (Footloose, Passenger 57) & Chris Parker (Palm Springs), Andrew Corkin (A Vigilante, Mercy), as well as Sparling & Alex Lalonde.
Dan Romer Scoring Pixar’s ‘Luca’
Last month, Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Maniac, Wendy) has recorded his score for Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Luca. The film is directed by Enrico Casarosa (La Luna) and features the voice talent of Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, Emma Berman, Maya Rudolph, Marco Barricelli and Jim Gaffigan. The movie is set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera and tells the coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides.

Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, Succession, The Big Short, Vice) has recently been scoring Disney’s upcoming family comedy drama Cruella. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Lars and the Real Girl, Million Dollar Arm) and stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser and Mark Strong. The movie based on the character from Disney’s 101 Dalmations is set in 1970s London and centers on young fashion designer Cruella de Vil as she becomes obsessed with dogs’ skins, especially Dalmatians, until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend.

Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, Vita & Virginia, Vanity Fair, The Split, The ABC Murders) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film Munich. The spy thriller is directed by Christian Schwochow (Cracks in the Shell, The German Lesson) and stars Jeremy Irons, George MacKay, Jannis Niehwöhner, Sandra Hüller, Liv Lisa Fries, August Diehl, Erin Doherty and Martin Wuttke. The movie based on the book by Robert Harris is set in the run-up to World War II and centers on a British civil servant and a German diplomat who travel to Munich for the emergency Conference and find themselves at the centre of a web of political subterfuge and very real danger.

The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Howard Gould and follows a disgraced LAPD detective who has spent the past three years living off the grid, when he is reluctantly pulled back into his old life by a former lover in order to solve the murder of an eccentric celebrity’s wife.
Rob Scoring Alexandre Aja’s ‘Oxygen’
Composer Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Revenge, Gretel & Hansel, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium, Amityville: The Awakening) is reuniting with director Alexandre Aja on the upcoming Netflix original film Oxygen. The survival thriller starring Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric and Malik Zidi tells the story of a young woman who wakes up in a cryogenic pod, not remembering who she is or how she ended up there, and must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare. Christie LeBlanc wrote the Black List-honored screenplay.
