Chris Alan Lee has been tapped to score the upcoming BET original series The First Wives Club. The show is developed by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, The Sun Is Also a Star) based on the 1996 feature of the same title and stars Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott and Michelle Buteau. The comedy revolves around three women who band together after their marriages fall apart and find strength in their sisterhood — and of course a little revenge. Oliver is also executive producing the project with Karen Rosenfelt (The Twilight Saga, Marley & Me) and Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network). The First Wives Club will premiere later this year on BET.
Lee also continues to score TV Land’s Younger, which will return for its sixth season on June 12, 2019. The composer has also recently scored the first season of the new Netflix original series No Good Nick. The show is created by David H. Steinberg (Slackers) & Keetgi Kogan (Barely Legal) and stars Melissa Joan Hart, Sean Astin, Siena Agudong, Kalama Epstein and Lauren Lindsey. The comedy follows a 13-year-old girl who infiltrates a family with the intention to get revenge on them for unknowingly ruining her life. No Good Nick will premiere this coming Monday, April 15 exclusively on Netflix.
