Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller American Made directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones and Jayma Mays. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Linda Ronstadt, The Allman Brothers, Walter Murphy & more. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Flatliners directed by Niels Arden Oplev and starring Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons. Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hostel, Cabin Fever) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 550 theaters is the thriller ‘Til Death Do Us Part directed by Christober B. Stokes and starring Taye Diggs, Stephen Bishop, Annie Ilonzeh, Robinne Lee and Malik Yoba. The film’s original score is composed by Immanuel Rich. Silent Partner & Novus Entertainment have released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by artists including Marques Houston, J Boog, Mila J, I Rich, Chrissy, Jacob and Smooth. Opening in Los Angeles and New York before expanding to more markets within the next couple of weeks is the drama Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House written and directed by Peter Landesman and starring Liam Neeson, Diane Lane, Marton Csokas, Josh Lucas, Tony Goldwyn, Michael C. Hall, Tom Sizemore, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ike Barinholtz and Bruce Greenwood. Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening in limited release is the indie drama Lucky directed by John Carroll Lynch and starring Harry Dean Stanton, David Lynch, Ron Livingston, Ed Begley Jr., Tom Skerritt and Beth Grant. The film’s original music is composed by Elvis Kuehn. No word on a soundtrack release. Lucky follows the spiritual journey of a 90-year-old atheist and the quirky characters that inhabit his off the map desert town. Also opening in select theaters is the dramatic thriller Super Dark Times directed by Kevin Phillips and starring Owen Campbell, Charlie Tahan, Sawyer Barth and Amy Hargreaves. Ben Frost (Fortitude, Sleeping Beauty, The Deep) has composed the film’s original music. The Orchard has release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Another limited release this week is the sci-fi drama Realive written and directed by Mateo Gil and starring Tom Hughes, Charlotte Le Bon, Oona Chaplin and Barry Ward. The film’s original music is composed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6, The Raven, The Quiet Ones). MuMo Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year. Also opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix is the romantic drama Our Souls at Night directed by Ritesh Batra and starring Jane Fonda, Robert Redford, Matthias Schoenaerts, Judy Greer, Iain Armitage and Bruce Dern. Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Interview with the Vampire, Heat, Alien 3) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced.
