Also opening wide is the action thriller Normal directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Bob Odenkirk, Lena Headey, Henry Winkler, Brendan Fletcher, Billy MacLellan, Ryan Allen, Jess McLeod, Reena Jolly, Peter Shinkoda, Derek Barnes and David Lawrence Brown. Harry Gregson-Williams  ShrekThe Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Mulan, Man on Fire, Chicken Run, Gladiator IIKingdom of Heaven) and Ryder McNair (Andy Kaufman Is MeYosemite) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Opening semi-wide in around 400 theaters is the documentary Lorne directed by Morgan Neville about Lorne Michaels, the man who built the inimitable empire of comedy, shaping television and culture for generations. The film’s original music is composed by Darian Sahanaja (of Wondermints) (STEVE! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces, The ReplacementsFuture-Worm!) who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in New York and Los Angeles this weekend before expanding nationwide next Friday, April 24, is the psychological drama Mother Mary written and directed by Lowery and starring Anne Hathaway, Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer,Kaia Gerber, Alba Baptista, Atheena Frizzell, Sian Clifford, Jessica Brown Findlay and Isaura Barbé-Brown. The film’s original songs are written by Jack Antonoff & Charli XCX and FKA twigs and the movie’s original score is composed by Daniel Hart (The Green Knight,Interview with the Vampire,  Pete’s DragonThe Old Man & the GunA Ghost Story, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Peter Pan & Wendy). A24 Music has released two soundtrack albums today featuring both songs and score today. Also opening in select theaters today is the Canadian romantic comedy Mile End Kicks written and directed by Chandler Levack and starring Barbie Ferreira, Devon Bostick, Magi Merlin, Stanley Simons,  Audrey Ann Boucher, Juliette Gariépy and Svetlana Citta. Cecile Believe has composed the film’s original score. Sumerian Records has released several digital singles featuring covers of Alanis Morissette songs (performed by Avril Lavigne, Bailey Spinn, The Haunt, Gore. & Charlotte Sands) this week. Opening in a single New York theater today before expanding to more U.S. cities in the coming weeks is the political thriller Eagles of the Republic (Les Aigles de la République) written and directed by Tarik Saleh and starring Fares Fares, Lyna Khoudri, Zineb Triki, Amr Waked and Cherien Dabis. Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel,The King’s SpeechHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,  The Shape of WaterJurassic World Rebirth, Godzilla,  Frankenstein, The Queen, Philomena) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last November when the movie opened in Sweden and France. Also opening in New York this weekend before expanding to more U.S. markets in the coming weeks is the German historical coming-of-age- drama Amrum co-written and directed by Fatih Akin and starring Jasper Billerbeck, Laura Tonke, Kian Köppke, Lisa Hagmeister and Diane Kruger. The film’s original music is composed by electronic music producer Hainbach. The artist has released a soundtrack album featuring his score last fall when the movie opened in Germany.
