Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the political thriller Eagles of the Republic (Les Aigles de la République). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Jurassic World Dominion, Godzilla, The Queen, Frankenstein, Philomena). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 12 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Eagles of the Republic is written and directed by Tarik Saleh and stars Fares Fares, Lyna Khoudri, Amr Waked, Zineb Triki and Cherien Dabis. The movie, which has been selected as Swedish’s entry in the International Feature category for next year’s Academy Awards, marks the third installment’s in Saleh’s Cairo trilogy and follows Egypt’s most adored actor who gets drawn into a shadowy world full of dangers after he’s forced to star in a propaganda film.The thriller, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, will be released in French theaters tomorrow and in Sweden this Friday, November 14. No word yet on a domestic release date.
