Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the crime thriller Caught Stealing directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Austin Butler, Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, Matt Smith, Vincent D’Onofrio, Carol Kane, Benito A Martínez Ocasio and Griffin Dunne. The album features the film’s original score is composed by Rob Simonsen (Deadpool & WolverineGhostbusters: AfterlifeIt Ends with Us, The Way Back, Foxcatcher, The Age of Adaline, Nerve, (500) Days of Summer) and performed the post-punk band Idles who also contributed several original songs to the project. has released a soundtrack album featuring both score and songs today. Also opening wide is the comedy The Roses directed by Jay Roach and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Belinda Bromilow, Allison Janney, Sunita Mani, Jamie Demetriou, Ncuti Gatwa, Zoë Chao and Kate McKinnon. Theodore Shapiro (SeveranceThe Devil Wears Prada, Tropic ThunderGhostbusters,  A Simple FavorBombshellSpy) has composed the film’s original music. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two covers performed by Susanna Hoffs, Rufus Wainwright & Eric D. Johnson last Friday. Also opening nationwide is the superhero comedy The Toxic Avenger written and directed by Macon Blair and starring Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Julia Davis and Taylour Paige. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as original songs written by themselves today and tracks by The Giraffes and East Hundred today. Opening in select theaters this weekend is the drama Love, Brooklyn directed by Rachael Abigail Holder and starring André Holland, Nicole Beharie, DeWanda Wise, Cassandra Freeman, Roy Wood Jr. and Cadence Reese. Joel P West (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Short Term 12Just Mercy, The Glass Castle, Grandma) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie, which follows three longtime Brooklynites as they navigate careers, love, loss and friendship against the rapidly changing landscape of their beloved city, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Greenwich Entertainment.

Also opening in select theaters this weekend is the coming-of-age comedy Griffin in Summer written and directed by Nicholas Colia and starring Everett Blunck, Melanie Lynskey, Abby Ryder Fortson, Kathryn Newton and Owen Teague. The film’s original music is composed by Nami Melumad (Star Trek: Strange New World & Prodigy, Thor: Love and Thunder, Dream Productions, An American Pickle, Absentia, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window). No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters today is the drama A Little Prayer written and directed by Angus MacLachlan and starring David Strathairn, Jane Levy, Celia Weston, Anna Camp, Will Pullen and Dascha Polanco. Greg Danner has composed the film’s original music and has made his feature scoring debut on the project. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which is set in the South and follows a man who tests the limits of patriarchal interference to protect his daughter-in-law when he discovers that his son is having an affair, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Music Box Films.
