Premiering today is the Hulu limited series Faraway Downs co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Ben Mendelsohn and Brandon Walters and Bryan Brown. The reimagined version of the 2008 feature Australia is scored by Kara Talve (Prehistoric Planet, The Tatooist of Auschwitz, The Simpsons) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Sony Music Australia has released a soundtrack album featuring Budjerah’ & Matt Corb’sy theme song The Way, as well as other songs from the show earlier this week. Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, November 27, is the British miniseries Steeltown Murders written by Ed Whitmore and starring Philip Glenister, Steffan Rhodri, Keith Allen, Sharon Morgan, Scott Arthur, Siôn Alun Davies and Priyanga Burford. Sarah Warne (Humans, Time, Des, The Drowning, Hollington Drive, Dark Money) has composed the show’s original music. Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past June. Premiering on Wednesday, November 29, is the Australian Hulu original series The Artful Dodger created by David Maher, David Taylor & James McNamara and starring Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis, Maia Mitchell, Tim Minchin, Damon Herriman, Miranda Tapsell, Damien Garvey, Susie Porter, Kym Gyngell, Jessica De Gouw, Andrea Demetriades, Luke Carroll and Huw Higginson. The show’s original music is composed by Antony Partos (Animal Kingdom, The Rover, 99 Homes, I Am Mother, Adore). No word yet on a soundtrack release. Premiering Thursday, November 30, is the Netflix original series Obliterated created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg & Josh Heald and starring Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano, Paola Lázaro, C. Thomas Howell, Kimi Rutledge, Eugene Kim, Terrence Terrell and Alyson Gorske. Leo Birenberg & Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Florida Man, Twisted Metal, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin) have composed the show’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score will be announced soon.
