Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, October 2, is the British TV series Joan created by Anna Symon and starring Sophie Turner, Frank Dillane, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr, Kirsty J. Curtis and Laura Aikman. The show’s original music is composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, Welcome to the Punch, Roadkill, The Wedding Guest, The English Game, The Face of an Angel, The Frankenstein Cronicles). Premiering on Thursday, October 3, is the horror thriller Hold Your Breath directed by Will Joines & Karrie Crouse and starring Sarah Paulson, Annaleigh Ashford, Bill Heck, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Amiah Miller. Colin Stetson (Hereditary, The Menu, Uzumaki, Color Out of Space, The First, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) has composed the film’s original music. Also premiering on Thursday is the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1975 novel Salem’s Lot written and directed by Gary Dauberman and starring Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh, Spencer Treat Clark, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk and John Benjamin Hickey. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hostel, Cabin Fever) & Lisbeth Scott (All My Life, American Son). Another movie premiering on Thursday is the supernatural horror thriller House of Spoils written and directed by Bridget Savage Cole & Danielle Krudy and starring Ariana DeBose, Barbie Ferreira, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Arian Moayed, Amara Karan and Marton Csokas. Jim Williams (Titane, Raw, Possessor, Resurrection, Beast, Sightseers, A Field in England) has composed the film’s original music. Premiering on Friday, October 4 is the Spanish Netflix original film The Platform 2 (El Hoyo 2) co-written and directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and starring Milena Smit, Hovik Keuchkerian, Natalia Tena, Iván Massagué, Óscar Jaenada, Bastien Ughetto, Zorion Eguileor and Armando Buika. The movie’s original music is composed by Aitor Etxebarria (Burning Body, Intimacy, The Radio Amateur). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be announced soon.
