Opening in over 100 theaters today following an awards-qualifying release last month is the drama Origin written and directed by Ava DuVernay and starring Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Niecy Nash-Betts, Blair Underwood and Nick Offerman. Kris Bowers (BridgertonKing Richard, The Color PurpleSecret Invasion, Green BookHaunted Mansion, When They See Us, Mrs. America) has composed the film’s original score. Also opening in around 100 theaters today following an awards-qualifying run last month is the British survival drama The End We Start From directed by Mahalia Belo and starring Jodie Comer, Joel Fry, Mark Strong, Katherine Waterston, Gina McKee, Nina Sosanya and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film’s original music is composed by Anna Meredith (Eighth GradeLiving with YourselfTuesday). Mercury Classics, Soundtrack & Score has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening in a few hundred theaters is the political slasher Founders Day co-written and directed by Erik Bloomquist and starring Naomi Grace, Devin Druid, Andrew Stewart-Jones, Amy Hargreaves, Emilia McCarthy, Olivia Nikkanen, Dylan Slade, Tyler James White and William Russ. Timothy Williams (PearlBrightburn, Agent ElvisYour Monster, Walking with the EnemyFinding You) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening in select theaters today is the romantic comedy Which Brings Me to You directed by Peter Hutchings and starring Lucy Hale, Nat Wolff, Alexander Hodge, Britne Oldford,  John Gallagher, Jr. and Genevieve Angelson. The film’s original music is composed by Spencer Hutchings (The Hating Game, Then Came You, Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, The Outcasts, Why Stop Now). The composer has released a soundtrack album featuring his score and songs from the movie earlier this month. Another movie opening in select theaters today is the thriller Cult Killer directed by Jon Keyes and starring Antonio Banderas, Alice Eve, Paul Reid and Shelley Hennig. Aoife O’Leary & Gerry Owens have composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced The movie, which follows a PI and his partner who are drawn into a web of intrigue when they start tracking a serial killer targeting a wealthy family with a dark secret, is being released by Saban Films.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD is the action thriller Wanted Man directed by Dolph Lundgren and starring Lundgren himself, Kelsey Grammer, Christina Villa, Michael Paré and Roger Cross. The film’s original music is composed by Sacha Chaban (Redemption DayCollide, On Fire, Aftermath, Darkness FallsBreaking & EnteringThe Vanished). No word on a soundtrack release. The Millennium Media production, which revolves around an aging police officer in Southern California who must retrieve an eyewitness and escort her across the border when a cartel shooting leaves several DEA agents dead, is being released by Quiver Distribution.
