Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, The Greatest Showman, Straight Outta Compton, Lady and the Tramp, Insurgent, The Raid: Redemption) has recently scored the upcoming National Geographic natural history series America the Beautiful. He also co-wrote the project’s theme music with drummer and supporting vocalist from Bon Iver, S. Carey. The 6-parter is directed by Tom Stephens, narrated by Michael B. Jordan and takes viewers on a journey across North America’s most spectacular regions to witness the landscapes of the most diverse land on Earth while showcasing its many unique creatures. Vanessa Berlowitz (Elephant) and Mark Linfield (Monkey Kingdom, Chimpanzee) are executive producing the project for Wildstar Films, alongside National Geographic’s Janet Han Vissering. America the Beautiful will premiere on July 4, 2022 exclusively on Disney+.
Trapanese’s other recent projects include Joseph Kosinski’s Spiderhead, which will debut on Netflix this Friday, June 17 and Peter Atencio’s The Machine, which is currently awaiting a release date. He is also confirmed to return as the composer for the second season of Netflix’s Shadow and Bone and the third season of Netflix’s The Witcher.
