Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Little Miss Sunshine) & Jeff Danna (The Good DinosaurOnwardTyrant, The Addams FamilyStorks) are teaming up to score the upcoming Netflix animated film My Father’s Dragon. The movie is directed by Nora Twomey and features the voices of Jacob Tremblay, Gaten Matarazzo, Golshifteh Farahani, Dianne Wiest, Rita Moreno, Judy Greer, Chris O’Dowd, Alan Cumming, Jackie Earle Haley, Yara Shahidi, Mary Kay Place,  Spence Moore II, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Charlyne Yi, Jack Smith, Maggie Lincoln, Whoopi Goldberg and Ian McShane.. The animated adventure is based on Ruth Stiles Gannett’s Newbery-winning children’s books and follows a young boy who runs away to an island to rescue and befriend a baby dragon. Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) wrote the screenplay. Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) and Julie Lynn (Life, Albert Nobbs) are producing the project for Mockingbird Pictures, alongside Paul Young (Wolfwalkers, Song of the Sea) for Cartoon Saloon. The Danna brothers have previously scored Twomey’s last feature, The Breadwinner. No release date has been announced yet for My Father’s Dragon.

Mychael Danna also has the film adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing (to be released in theaters on July 15) coming up. Jeff Danna has recently scored the HBO Max series Julia, which premiered last month with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
