Opening nationwide this weekend is the drama The Last Shift written and directed by Andrew Cohn and starring Richard Jenkins, Shane Paul McGhie, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Birgundi Baker, Allison Tolman and Ed O’Neill. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Orton (Nebraska, The Good Girl, My Old Lady). No soundtrack album has been announced. Opening in over 500 theaters this weekend is the crime comedy Kajillionaire written and directed by Miranda July and starring Evan Rachel Wood, Gina Rodriguez, Richard Jenkins and Debra Winger. Emile Mosseri (The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Minari, Homecoming) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the Mr. Lonely cover by himself & Angel Olsen, which is also available separately as a digital single. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the action thriller Ava directed by Tate Taylor and starring Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Common, John Malkovich, Geena Davsi, Ioan Gruffudd and Joan Chen. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day). No word on a soundtrack release. Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Leave No Trace, Locke, Out of the Furnace, Last Chance Harvey) has composed the film’s original music. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened overseas. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Birds of Prey, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ocean’s 8). Already out on VOD since this past Tuesday is the documentary Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story directed by April Wright and narrated by Michelle Rodriquez.
