The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this week is the spy thriller Tenet written and directed by Christopher Nolan and starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Clémence Poésy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh and Himesh Patel. The film’s original music is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Creed, Community, Venom). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as Travis Scott’s original song The Plan co-written and produced by Göransson. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven) has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song and a new version Reflection (written for the 1998 animated feature). Opening in virtual theaters and on VOD today is the drama Critical Thinking directed by John Leguizamo and starring Leguizamo himself, Rachel Bay Jones and Michael Kenneth Williams. The film’s original music is composed by Chris Hajian (The Infiltrator, StartUp, Woody Woodpecker, First Position). ). No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which tells the true story of five LatinX and Black teenagers from the toughest underserved ghetto in Miami who fight their way into the National Chess Championship, is being released by Vertical Entertainment.
Already out on VOD since this past Tuesday is the documentary Robin’s Wish directed by Tyler Norwood about the late Robin Williams’ final days and his fight against a deadly neurodegenerative disorder known as Lewy Body Dementia. Aaron Drake (The Godfathers of Hardcore, XOXO) has composed the film’s original score. Static Era Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music.
