Opening in select theaters today is the documentary Rebuilding Paradise directed by Ron Howard. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception) & Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life). A soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score for the movie, which also features Pearl Jam’s River Cross as its end credits song, will be announced soon. Opening on VOD today is the romantic drama The Secret: Dare to Dream directed by Andy Tennant and starring Katie Holmes, Josh Lucas, Celia Weston and Jerry O’Connell. George Fenton (The Blue Planet, Hitch, Groundhog Day, Dangerous Liaisons, Anna and the King) has composed the film’s original music. Lightning Glasses and Tone Tree Music have released the original song Waiting written and performed by Striking Matches today. Opening in select theaters today before opening on VOD on August 7 is the horror thriller She Dies Tomorrow written and directed by Amy Seimetz and stars Kate Lyn Sheil, Jane Adams, Kentucker Audley, Katie Aselton, Chris Messina, Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim, Olivia Taylor Dudley and Michelle Rodriguez. The film’s original music is composed by Mondo Boys (Phoenix Forgotten, The Girlfriend Experience, Dave Made a Maze). Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score next Friday, August 7. Opening theatrically and on VOD today is the documentary The Fight directed by Elyse Steinberg, Josh Kriegman and Eli Despres. Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, August: Osage County) has provided the themes for the movie and Juan Luqui has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a team of heroic ACLU lawyers in a battle over abortion rights, immigrant rights, LGBTQ rights and voting rights, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Magnolia Pictures. Also opening in select theaters is the drama The Cuban directed by Sergio Navarretta and starring Louis Gossett Jr., Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ana Golja, Giacomo Gianniotti and Lauren Holly. The film’s original music is composed by jazz pianist Hilario Duran. Alma Records has released a soundtrack album featuring Duran’s score this past May. Opening in the U.S. on VOD today is the British/Irish crime drama The Shadow of Violence directed by Nick Rowland and starring Cosmo Jarvis, Barry Keoghan, Niamh Algar and Ned Dennehy. Invada Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened overseas (under the title Calm with Horses). Also opening in select theaters before premiering on Apple TV+ is the documentary Boys State directed by Jesse Moss & Amanda McBaine about a week-long annual program in which a thousand Texas high school seniors gather for an elaborate mock exercise: building their own state government.. The film’s original score is composed by T. Griffin (Life, Animated, Charm City). The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it received the Grand Jury Prize, and is being released theatrically by A24.
