Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, March 9, is the British thriller Temple developed by Mark O’Rowe based on the Norwegian series Valkyrien and starring Mark Strong, Carice van Houten and Daniel Mays. The show’s original music is composed by Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, The Cave, Life in a Day, Gloria Bell). SATV Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the first season. Also premiering tomorrow is the docu-series Cosmos: Possible Worlds presented by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and written, directed and executive produced by Ann Druyan & Brannon Braga. Alan Silvestri (Avengers: Endgame, Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, The Polar Express, Captain America: The First Avenger) who previously scored 2014’s Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, March 13 is the Disney+ original movie Stargirl directed by Julia Hart and starring Grace VanderWaal, Graham Verchere, Giancarlo Esposito, Karan Brar, Darby Stanchfield and Maximiliano Hernandez. The film’s original score is composed by Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, The Spectacular Now, Foxcatcher, The Age of Adaline, (500) Days of Summer). Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song by VanderWaal (which is already available as a digital single) this Friday. Also premiering in the U.S. on Friday is the British mini-series The Pale Horse developed by Sarah Phelps and starring Rufus Sewell, Kaya Scodelario, Bertie Carvel, Sean Pertwee, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Poppy Gilbert, Madeleine Bowyer, Ellen Robertson, Rita Tushingham, Sheila Atim and Kathy Kiera Clarke. Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Mrs. Wilson, Calibre, This Beautiful Fantastic) has composed the show’s original music. Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the Netflix original movie Spenser Confidential directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, Winston Duke, Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger and Austin Post. The film’s original music is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, Ender’s Game, The Island, Pain & Gain, Deepwater Horizon, Lone Survivor). BMG has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score.
