Singer/songwriter Caitlyn Smith, actress Mary Steenburgen and songwriter Kate York (Nashville) have written an original song for the upcoming British comedy drama Country Music. The film is directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, War & Peace, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) and stars Jessie Buckley, Sophie Okonedo, Julie Walters, James Harkness and folk musician Neill McColl. The movie revolves around a young Scottish singer who dreams of making it as a country artist in Nashville after being released from prison. Nicole Taylor (The C Word) wrote the screenplay. Faye Ward (Suffragette) is producing the project for Fable Pictures. Country Music is currently shooting. A release in 2018 is expected. (Variety)
