John Frizzell has been tapped to score the upcoming ABC drama Conviction. The show is created by Liz Friedlander & Liz Friedman (Jessica Jones) and stars Hayley Atwell, Eddie Cahill, Shawn Ashmore, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney, Manny Montana and Daniel DiTomasso. The series follows a lawyer and former First Daughter who accepts a job at the NY District Attorney Conviction Integrity Unit to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother’s Senate campaign. Friedlander and Friedman are also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Saving Private Ryan, Speed, Steve Jobs) and Nick Pepper (Quantico). Frizzell has previously scored the TV shows The Following, Stalker and The Secret Circle, on which Friedlander served as a producer and director. Conviction is set to premiere on October 3, 2016 on ABC.
Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space) also has the thriller When the Bough Breaks coming up. The film is opening this weekend and a soundtrack album is now available on Madison Gate Records. The composer’s upcoming projects also include the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface.
