Intrada Records has announced a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure sequel The Monkey King 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Ghost Rider, The Shipping News, Entrapment, The Hurricane). The soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples. Intrada has previously released the composer’s music for the first part in the series. The Monkey King 2 is directed by Cheang Pou-soi and stars Aaron Kwok, Gong Li, Feng Shaofeng, Xiaoshenyang and Him Law. The movie tells the story of how the Monkey King protected the monk Xuanzang from being eaten by a shapeshifting demoness three times on a journey to collect the Buddhist sutras from India. The fantasy adventure was released in theaters and on VOD earlier this year.
