Nick Urata will perform an intimate show at Largo at the Coronet on Thursday, August 16 in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of his soundtrack to Ruby Sparks. The composer and DeVotchKa frontman will be accompanied by an eight-piece ensemble and perform selections from the score for Ruby Sparks, other score pieces he composed, including the music to Little Miss Sunshine and I Love You Phillip Morris, as well as solo material. Urata will be also be a guest at Cinefamily for the Soundtrack Shelf live podcast debut. The composer will be participating in a discussion about how the music selections have impacted his work and how he created the score for Ruby Sparks. The event, which takes place on August 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Silent Movie Theater in Los Angeles, will conclude with a rare screening of the Leonard Rosenman-scored sci-fi film Beneath The Planet of The Apes.
