The film is written and directed by Savi Gabizon (Nina’s Tragedies) and stars Richard Gere, Suzanne Clément and Diane Kruger. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for the HBO limited series The Sympathizer. The album features the show’s original score composed by Cho Young-Wuk (Oldboy, The Handmaiden, Lady VengeanceThirstThe Little Drummer Girl, Decision to Leave). Also included are songs by Maxwell Whittington-Cooper, Pham Thi Bao Tran, Duong Minh Quan, Đình Bảo, Lam Anh, as well as Robert Downey Jr.’s rendition of Helen Reddy’s You and Me Against the World and Vy Le’s Lady Marmalade cover. Premiering on Wednesday, May 29, is the Hulu documentary series Camden directed by Asif Kapadia and executive produced by Dua Lipa, Dukagjin Lipa, Simon Chinn, Jonathan Chinn, Suzanne Lavery, Nick Shymansky, Jasper Waller-Bridge and Ben Friedman. The show’s original score is composed by Toydrum (Slow Horses, DetourPrevengeThree Pines, Platform 7, The BanishingFuture WorldSweetheart). The Lightbox production, which reveals the untold stories of how the lives and careers of some of the world’s most iconic artists were influenced by this corner of London, is premiering in the U.S. on Hulu and in most international markets on Disney+.

Also premiering on Wednesday is the HBO original documentary Moviepass, Moviecrash directed by Muta’Ali about the rise and implosion of the theatrical movie subscription app as told through the eyes of the visionary co-founders. Max Aruj (Crawl, The Old Guard 2, The Ice Road, iBoy, The TankMech CadetsLansky) has composed the film’s original music. Richard M. Sherman (1928-2024)

Richard M. Sherman passed away today at age 95 in at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California, due to age-related illness. Together with his brother Robert B. Sherman, the composer/lyricist wrote numerous songs for film and television and received two Academy Awards for the score and original song Chim Chim Cher-ee  from Disney’s 1964 classic Mary Poppins. He received seven additional Academy Award nominations for the 1968 musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Disney’s 1971 feature Bedknobs and Broomsticks, 1973’s film adaptation of Tom Sawyer, the 1976 musical The Slipper and the Rose & 1978’s The Magic of Lassie, as well three Grammy Awards and 24 gold and platinum albums over the course of his 65 year career. The film is directed by Mimi Cave and stars Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal, Matthew Macfadyen, Rachel Sennott, Jude Hill, Isaac Krasner, Lennon Parham and Jeff Pope. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the post-apocalyptic action adventure Furiosa: A Mad Max Story co-written and directed by George Miller and starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke and Alyla Browne. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Sonic the Hedgehog, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album featuring the world premiere release of four previously unreleased scores composed by David Michael Frank (Above the LawCode of Silence, Extreme JusticeThe Mole). The 2-CD includes the composer’s score from the 1992 erotic thriller Poison Ivy directed by Katt Shea and starring Drew Barrymore, Sara Gilbert, Tom Skerritt & Cheryl Ladd and his music for the 1991 comedy Suburban Commando directed by Burt Kennedy and starring Hulk Hogan, Christopher Lloyd, Shelley Duvall & Larry Miller. Also included are Frank’s scores from Sollace Mitchell’s 1988 erotic thriller Call Me starring Patricia Charbonneau, Stephen McHattie & Boyd Gaines and Mark W. Travis’ 1991 comedy Going Under starring Bill Pullman, Wendy Schaal & Ned Beatty. Nathan Johnson (LooperNightmare AlleyBrick, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Poker Face, Kill the Messenger) is set to return to score the third installment in Knives Out series, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The film written and directed by Rian Johnson will star Daniel Craig who is reprising his role of Benoit Blanc from the first two movies. No other casting announcements have been made yet.
