Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action sequel Expend4bles directed by Scott Waugh and starring Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Dolph Lundgren, Iko Uwais, Randy Couture and Andy Garcia. The film’s original music is composed by Guillaume Roussel (Black Beauty, 3 Days to Kill, Happy!, The SpyThe Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan). Also opening wide is the supernatural horror movie It Lives Inside co-written and directed by Bishal Dutta and starring Megan Suri, Neeru Bajwa, Betty Gabriel, Mohana Krishnan and Vik Sahay. Wesley Hughes (The Stay, ReBroken) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows an Indian-American teen who unleashes an ancient Indian demonic force that kidnaps her estranged friend, premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being released by Neon.

Opening in select U.S. theaters this weekend is the Chinese fantasy drama Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms directed by Wu Ershan and starring Huang Bo, Fei Xiang, Xia Yu, Li Xuejian and Chen Kun. The film’s original music is composed by Gordy Haab (Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Fallen Order & Battlefront). Hangzhou Yuyinniaoniao Culture Media Co. has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past July when the movie opened in China. Opening in select theaters today before premiering next Friday, September 29 on Apple TV+ is the musical comedy drama Flora and Son written and directed by John Carney (Once) and starring Eve Hewson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Orén Kinlan. Gary Clark (Sing Street) and Carney have composed the film’s original songs and score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and score last Friday. Opening in select U.S. theaters is the French thriller The Origin of Evil (L’origine du mal) written and directed by Sébastien Marnier and starring Doria Tillier, Laure Calamy, Suzanne Clément, Dominique Blanc, Céleste Brunnquell, Jacques Weber and Véronique Ruggia Saura. The film’s original music is composed by Pierre Lapointe (The Vinland Club) & Philippe Brault (Norbourg). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as Lapointe & Fishbach’s title song last fall when the movie opened overseas. Also opening in select U.S. theaters is the Finnish/Irish drama My Sailor, My Love  directed by Klaus Härö and starring James Cosmo, Bríd Brennan and Catherine Walker. Michelino Bisceglia (Charlotte, Hannah, Thieves of the Wood) has composed the film’s original music. Prova Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the sci-fi action thriller Dark Asset directed by Michael Winnick and starring Byron Mann, Helena Mattsson, Sabina Gadecki, Shani Ragsbee and Robert Patrick. The film’s original music is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Kominsky Method, Ghosts, Heels, White House Plumbers). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie is being distributed by Saban Films.

Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix next Friday, September 29, is the crime thriller Reptile directed by Grant Singer and starring Benicio Del Toro, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Frances Fisher, Karl Glusman and Matilda Lutz. Yair Elazar Glotman (False PositiveLast and First Men) has composed the film’s original music. A first track (Why We Had to Leave) from the composer’s score (feat. The film’s original score is composed by Rebel Rodriguez (We Can Be Heroes, Hypnotic) and John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, ElfIron Man 2). Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as a song by Rhiannon Rodriguez & Tiger Darrow today.
