Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums, 21/22 Jump Street, The Croods: A New AgeHotel Transylvania) has composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix animated film The Magician’s Elephant. The movie is directed by Wendy Rogers and features the voices of Noah Jupe, Mandy Patinkin, Brian Tyree Henry, Pixie Davies, Natasia Demetriou, Sian Clifford, Benedict Wong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Miranda Richardson, Aasif Mandvi and Dawn French. The animated feature is based on Kate DiCamillo’s classic novel and follows an orphaned boy searching for his long-lost sister who must find a mysterious elephant and the magician who will conjure it. Martin Hynes (Toy Story 4, Stealing Harvard) wrote the screenplay. Julia Pistor (Nacho Libre, Snow Day) is producing the project. The Magician’s Elephant will premiere on March 17, 2023 on Netflix.

Mothersbaugh’s recent feature projects also include Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear, which will be released in theaters on February 24 by Universal Pictures.
