Mica Levi (aka Micachu) is composing the music for the upcoming sci-fi dramedy Marjorie Prime. The film is written and directed by Michael Almereyda (Nadja, Experimenter, Hamlet) and stars Jon Hamm, Geena Davis, Lois Smith and Tim Robbins. The movie based on Jordan Harrison’s play is set in the near future in a time of artificial intelligence and follows a 86-year-old woman who has a handsome new companion who looks like her deceased husband and is programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. Uri Singer (Experimenter, Open Road) is producing the project. Marjorie Prime will premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival.
Levi’s most recent project, Jackie, is currently playing in select theaters and the soundtrack album is out on Milan Records. She also previously scored 2014’s Under the Skin.
