love-and-mercyA couple of major local critics associations have announced their winners for this year’s movies. The music from Bill Pohlad’s biographical drama Love & Mercy (by songwriter Brian Wilson and composer Atticus Ross) was singled out by both the New York Film Critics online and the Boston Society of Film Critics, while Carter Burwell was honored for his music for Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa and Todd Haynes’ Carol by the LA Film Critics. The Boston Online Film Critics Association’s vote for Best Film Score of the year went to Mad Max: Fury Road composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL). For a full list of winners, click on each group’s name below.
