Premiering on Tuesday, August 1, is the thriller River Wild directed by Ben Ketai and starring Adam Brody, Leighton Meester and Taran Killan. The film’s original music is composed by Tristan Clopet (StartUp). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Check out our soundtrack announcement for the full album details and to learn more about the movie, which will be available to stream on Netflix and will also be coming out on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD on the same day.

Premiering on Friday, August 4, is the Australian Amazon limited series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Sigourney Weaver, Asher Keddie, Frankie Adams, Leah Purcell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Xavier Samuel, Alyla Browne and Sebastián Zurita. Polish pianist, singer and composer Hania Rani (I Never Cry, Subuk) has composed the show’s original music. Christopher Bear Scoring Carter Smith’s ‘The Passenger’

Christopher Bear (of the indie rock band Grizzly Bear) (Past Lives, High Maintenance) is the composer of the upcoming MGM+ original film The Passenger. The movie is directed by Carter Smith (The Ruins, Jamie Marks Is Dead) and stars Kyle Gallner, Johnny Berchtold and Liza Weil. The horror thriller follows a man who is forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past when his coworker goes on a sudden and violent rampage leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Jack Stanley (Lou) wrote the screenplay.

Opening in around 800 U.S. theaters this weekend is the sci-fi horror movie Crimes of the Future written and directed by David Cronenberg and starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Don McKellar, Welket Bungué, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos, Nadia Litz, Tanaya Beatty and Lihi Kornowski. The film’s original music is composed by Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Aviator, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo). Howe Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening semi-wide is the thriller Watcher directed by Chloe Okuno and starring Maika Monroe, Karl Glusman and Burn Gorman. Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Swallow, One Percent More Humid, Minding the Gap, In the Same Breath) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release.
