WMI Italy will release a soundtrack album for Giuseppe Tornatore’s drama The Best Offer (La migliore offerta). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Ennio Morricone who previously collaborated with the director on such films as Cinema Paradiso and The Legend of 1900. The soundtrack is set to be released digitally on January 8, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release. The Best Offer is written and directed by Tornatore and stars Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Sylvia Hoeks and Donald Sutherland. The film revolves around a loveless elderly man who intersects with an astute young man and a mysterious woman in a South Tyrol setting.

‘Chinese Zodiac’ Soundtrack Released
Roc Music Studios has released a soundtrack album for Jackie Chan’s action film Chinese Zodiac aka CZ12. The album features the film’s score composed by Roc Chen. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. None of co-composer Nathan Wang’s music is featured on the release. Chinese Zodiac is written, directed and produced by Jackie Chan who also stars in the film as Asian Hawk, a role he previsouly played in Armour of God and Operation Condor, who attempts to search out the twelve mystical bronze sculpture heads of animals in the Chinese zodiac. Oliver Platt, Steven Dasz and Caitlin Dechell are co-starring in the film, which opened in Hong Kong and China last month.
‘Mama’ Soundtrack Details
Quartet Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the supernatural thriller Mama. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, Devil). A physical album is coming out overseas on January 16 and is available for pre-order on the label’s official website. Mama directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nellsse follows a couple faced with the challenge of raising two children that were left alone in the forest for 5 years. The film executive produced by Guillermo del Toro will be released on January 18, 2013 by Universal Pictures.
‘Being Human’ Soundtrack Announced
A soundtrack album has been announced for the Syfy original series Being Human. The album features selections from the show’s score from seasons 1 & 2 composed by FM Le Sieur. Being Human based on the BBC series of the same name follows three roommates who struggle to keep their supernatural secrets and resist individual temptations as they strive to live lives that are as near to normal as possible. The show stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, Sam Huntington, Mark Pellegrino, Dichen Lachman and Kristen Hager. A soundtrack album for the drama Atlas Shrugged: Part II has recently been released digitally. The album features the film’s score composed by Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet). Atlas Shrugged: Part II directed by John Putch is the second part in a proposed trilogy adapting Ayn Rand’s 1957 classic novel and stars Samantha Mathis, Jason Beghe and Esai Morales. The movie opened in theaters this past October and will be released on BluRay and DVD later this year.

Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album for Gus Van Sant’s drama Promised Land. The album features the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman who previously collaborated with the director on such films as Good Will Hunting, Milk and To Die For. Also included is the original song, Snake Eyes, written and performed by The Milk Carton Kids (Kenneth A. Pattengale and Joseph Edward Ryan). The soundtrack is now available on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Promised Land starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Rosemarie DeWitt, Hal Holbrook, Scoot McNairy, Titus Welliver and Frances McDormand follows a corporate salesman who has his life turned around when he arrives in a rural town with his sales partner.
Sony Classical to Release Marco Beltrami’s ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ Score
Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the action sequel A Good Day to Die Hard. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream) who previously scored the previous installment in the Die Hard series, Live Free or Die Hard. The soundtrack will be released on February 12, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full album details, including track list and cover art are expected to be revealed in early 2013. A Good Day to Die Hard is directed by John Moore who has previously worked with the composer on such films as Flight of the Phoenix, The Omen and Max Payne.
‘Stand Up Guys’ Score Album Details
Lakeshore Records has announced a score album for the crime comedy Stand Up Guys. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lyle Workman (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad, Win Win). Also included are four songs by artists Fort Knox Five, Crookers feat. Yelle and James Calvin Wilsey. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 29, 2013. As previously reported, the label has also released a soundtrack featuring the film’s songs, including Jon Bon Jovi’s original track Not Running Anymore, which has been nominated for a Golden Globe last week. Stand Up Guys is directed by Fisher Stevens and stars Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin as retired gangster who reunite for one epic night. The film is currently playing in select theaters for an Awards-qualifying run and will be opening nationwide on February 1, 2013.
‘Jack Reacher’ Soundtrack Details
La-La Land Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for Christopher McQuarrie’s thriller Jack Reacher. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joe Kraemer (The Way of the Gun). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. Jack Reacher stars Tom Cruise as military policeman-turned-drifter Jack Reacher, who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people in a shooting. Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog, David Oyelowo and Robert Duvall are co-starring in the film, which will be released on December 21 by Paramount Pictures.
‘Dancing on the Edge’ Soundtrack Announced
Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC original mini-series Dancing on the Edge. The album features the features the series’ original score composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Kinky Boots). The soundtrack will be released in the UK on January 14, 2013. Dancing on the Edge is written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff who has previously collaborated with Johnston a number of times and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Wunmi Mosaku, Angel Coulby and John Goodman. The five-part series produced by Nicky Kentish Barnes (Match Point, About A Boy) follows the Louis Lester Band as they find fame amongst the parties and performances of upper class society in the capital. The BBC production will premiere in January 2013 on BBC2.
