Steve Jablonsky has signed on to score the pilot for the Fox drama The List. The show is created by Paul Zbyszewski (creator of Day Break, writer on Lost and Hawaii Five-0) and stars Michael Peña as a U.S. Marshal who leads the hunt for the person who stole “the list” – a file with the identities of every member of the Federal Witness Security Program – after people in the program start getting killed. Tamsin Egerton, Hilarie Burton and Gary Cole are also starring. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) is directing the pilot episode and is executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Zbyszewski. Fleischer has previously collaborated with Jablonsky on this year’s feature Gangster Squad starring Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin.

‘Gangster Squad’ Score Album Details
The details of the score album for the action crime drama Gangster Squad have been revealed. The album features the film’s score composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers trilogy, Battleship). According to the movie’s latest trailer and poster, Varese Sarabande will release a score album for Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad. The film’s music is composed by Steve Jablonksy (Transformers series, Desperate Housewives). No word yet on a release date, but the album is expected to come out around the film’s release in January of next year. Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, Battleship) has signed on to score the upcoming crime drama Gangster Squad. The composer is taking over scoring duties from Carter Burwell who has previously been announced as the composer of the film. No word yet on whether any of Burwell’s music will remain in the picture. The movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and stars Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Pena. The drama produced by Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes), Kevin McCormick (The Lucky One) and Michael Tadross (Arthur) tells the story of the events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time. Gangster Squad is currently scheduled to be released on September 7, 2012 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Carter Burwell to Score ‘Gangster Squad’
Carter Burwell has signed on to score next year’s crime drama Gangster Squad. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less) and stars Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Pena. The movie is based on L.A. Times’ seven-part series Tales of the Gangster Squad written by Paul Lieberman, which chronicles LAPD’s struggle with crime and corruption in the 1940s by forming a unit called Gangster Squad to keep organized crime figures from the East Coast out of Los Angeles. Will Beall (Castle) is adapting the material for the screen.
Nathan Barr scoring ’30 Minutes or Less’

According to Nathan Barr’s Facebook fan page, the composer has been hired to score the upcoming crime comedy 30 Minutes or Less. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who worked with composer David Sardy on the 2009 hit horror comedy Zombieland. In 30 Minutes or Less, two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery driver and force him to rob a bank within 30 minutes. The comedy stars Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride, Nick Swardson and Michael Pena. Sony Pictures will release the movie on August 12, 2011.
