XANADU has released a soundtrack album for the French fantasy comedy Game Master (Le Roi du Game).The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ludovic Bource (The Artist, OSS 117, On the Other Side of the Tracks, Clear History, Little Nicholas: Happy as Can Be, The Rookie Guide). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. Game Master is directed by Éric Judor and stars Judor himself, Alexandra Lamy, Marc Labrèche, Hafid Benamar and Liona Bordonaro. The movie follows a father who joins a live-action medieval-fantasy role-playing game to reconnect with his estranged daughter, leading to a zany and chaotic adventure.

‘The Rookie Guide’ Soundtrack Released

The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ludovic Bource (The Artist, OSS 117, Little Nicholas: Happy as Can Be, On the Other Side of the Tracks, Clear History). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s main theme after the jump. The Rookie Guide is written and directed by Philippe Mechelen and stars Hakim Jemili, Manon Azem, Christian Clavier and Michel Blanc. The movie follows a man who has never traveled in his life, but gets himself hired as a tour guide in Marrakech, where he is supposed to visit forty places in five days.
Weekly Film Music Roundup (December 16, 2022)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet and Sigourney Weaver. The film’s original music is composed by Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Pandora: The World of Avatar, Notre-Dame on Fire). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and two original songs performed by The Weeknd and Saldana (click here for the full album details). A second album featuring additional score cues will be coming out on December 20 (click here for more information).
Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the supernatural horror feature Lullaby directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Oona Chaplin, Rámon Rodríguez, Kira Guloien, Liane Balaban and Moni Ogunsuyi. Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle, Dark Skies, The Curse of La Llorona, The Unholy) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French animated feature Little Nicholas: Happy as Can Be (Le petit Nicholas: Qu’est-ce qu’on attend pour être heureux?). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ludovic Bource (The Artist, OSS 117, On the Other Side of the Tracks, Clear History). Also included is the song Qu’est ce qu’on attend pour être heureux? by Ray Ventura and Ses Collegiens. Little Nicholas directed by Amandine Fredon & Benjamin Massoubre is based on René Goscinny’s & Jean-Jacques Sempé’s popular 1960s children books and follows the adventures of a mischievous boy and his schoolmates, teacher and parents.

Pathé Production has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy The Fool (Le dindon). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ludovic Bource (The Artist, OSS 117: Lost in Rio & Cairo & Nest of Spies, Clear History, On the Other Side of the Tracks). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Fool is directed by Jalil Lespert and stars Dany Boon, Guillaume Gallienne, Alice Pol, Ahmed Sylla, Laure Calamy and Camille Lellouche. The movie follows a married man who tries to seduce the wife of his good friend, unaware that she has plans of her own to punish her cheating husband.
‘Clear History’ Soundtrack Details
Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album for the HBO original movie Clear History. The album features the film’s original score written by Academy Award-winning composer Ludovic Bource (The Artist). Also included are five songs by the rock band Chicago. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 13, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Clear History is directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) and stars Larry David, Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and J.B. Smoove. The movie about a former marketing executive who plots revenge against his former boss who made millions from the electric car company he once owned will premiere on August 10 on HBO.
Ludovic Bource Scoring HBO’s ‘Clear History’
Ludovic Bource has recently scored the upcoming HBO original movie Clear History. The comedy is directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) and stars Larry David, Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan and J.B. Smoove. The film follows a former marketing executive who plots revenge against his former boss who made millions from the electric car company he once owned. David co-wrote the teleplay with Alec Berg, David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer (EuroTrip, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Dictator) who are also executive producing the project with Mottola and Bradley Thomas (There’s Something About Mary, Shallow Hal).
Five Film Composers Invited to Join the Academy
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 176 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. Among the invited artists this year are five film composers, including former Oscar nominee Albert Iglesias who has received three Academy Award nominations for The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner and last year’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, previous Oscar recipient Ryuichi Sakamoto who won the award for co-scoring 1988’s The Last Emperor with David Byrne and Cong Su, as well as the most recent Academy Award winner in the Best Original Score category Ludovic Bource who received the award for his music for The Artist at this year’s ceremony.
Ludovic Bource Wins Oscar for ‘The Artist’
Ludovic Bource has won his first Academy Award in the Best Original Score category for his music for Michel Hazanavicius’ black-and-white silent film The Artist. The other contenders in the category were John Williams (The Adventures of Tintin, War Horse), Alberto Iglesias (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) and Howard Shore (Hugo). All four nominated composers were in attendance at the awards ceremony.
In the Best Original Song category, Bret McKenzie has received the award for the song Man or Muppet from Walt Disney Pictures’ The Muppets.
Ludovic Bource Wins BAFTA for ‘The Artist’
Ludovic Bource has won the Orange British Academy Film Award (BAFTA) in the Original Music category for his score for The Artist. Bource accepted his award in person at the awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. The composer’s competitors in the category were Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Howard Shore (Hugo), Alberto Iglesias (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) and John Williams (War Horse). The award marks Bource’s first BAFTA win. The composer has previously received the Golden Globe for his work on the black-and-white silent film and is considered to be the frontrunner to win the Academy Award on February 26.
