Alexandre Desplat revealed in a recent interview with RedCarpetNewsTV at the London premiere of Dreamworks’s Animation’s Rise of the Guardians that he will be reuniting with director Wes Anderson on his next film The Grand Budapest Hotel. Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Saoirse Ronan are attached to star in the film produced by Anderson, Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network), Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson (Moonrise Kingdom). The movie is set to start shooting in January of next year. The project will mark the composer’s third collaboration with the director following The Fantastic Mr. Fox and this year’s Moonrise Kingdom.

‘The Ides of March’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has revealed the details for the soundtrack of the political drama The Ides of March. The album features the original score from the film composed by Alexandre Desplat. The album will be released on CD on December 6, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. The soundtrack has also already been released digitally on iTunes, where you can check out audio clips from the album. The Ides of March is directed by George Clooney and stars Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright.

Film Music Reporter has learned that Alexandre Desplat has signed on to score the drama The Ides of March. George Clooney directs and stars in the film about a young press spokesman, played by Ryan Gosling, who falls prey to backroom politics, the treacherous manipulations of veteran operatives and the seduction of a young intern. The movie is an adaptation of the Broadway play Farragut North and co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright. Clooney adapted the play for the screen with Grant Heslov who previously co-wrote the director’s Academy-Award-nominated drama Good Night, and Good Luck.
