‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ Soundtrack Details
Watertower Music will be releasing the official soundtrack album for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The album includes the original score by Alexandre Desplat and will be released on July 12, 2011. The music was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London. The soundtrack is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album below. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is directed by David Yates and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grind, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Maggie Smith and Tom Felton. BREAKING NEWS: Alexandre Desplat to Score George Clooney’s ‘The Ides of March’
Film Music Reporter has learned that Alexandre Desplat has signed on to score the drama The Ides of March. George Clooney directs and stars in the film about a young press spokesman, played by Ryan Gosling, who falls prey to backroom politics, the treacherous manipulations of veteran operatives and the seduction of a young intern. The movie is an adaptation of the Broadway play Farragut North and co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright. Clooney adapted the play for the screen with Grant Heslov who previously co-wrote the director’s Academy-Award-nominated drama Good Night, and Good Luck.
Desplat talking about Harry Potter score
A number of interviews with composer Alexandre Desplat on his score for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 have been published over the last couple of days. AinItCoolNews conducted an interview with the composer talking in detail on how he got involved in the project and his approach to the movie’s score. Daniel Schweiger from Film Music Magazine also did an interview with Desplat talking about working on Harry Potter and also confirming his involvement in involvement in the last part of the series. Finally, the British radio station Classic FM uploaded a short audio interview with the composer where he talks about following the footsteps of John Williams, Patrick Doyle and Nicholas Hooper and working with the LSO, which recorded his soundtrack for the movie.
