Milan Records will release an EP for the Nat Geo’s first scripted series, Genius. The album features the show’s main title theme written by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception) and selections from the show’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys, Ghost in the Shell). Also included are three classical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Genius is executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard (who also directed the first episode) and stars Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, Emily Watson, Nicholas Rowe, Samantha Colley, Jon Fletcher, Richard Topol and Alicia von Rittberg. The show’s first season follows the life of Albert Einstein, from his early years as a patent clerk, to his later years as a physicist who developed the theory of relativity.

Lorne Balfe to Score Nat Geo’s ‘Genius’
Lorne Balfe has been hired to score the National Geographic Channel’s first scripted series Genius. The show’s first season is based on Walter Isaacson’s book Einstein: His Life and Universe and stars Geoffrey Rush as Albert Einstein. Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Backdraft) is directing the first episode of the drama, which chronicles how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk, who couldn’t get a teaching job or a doctorate, unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe. Johnny Flynn co-stars as Einstein in the years before he rose to international attention and acclaim. Noah Pink has adapted Isaacson’s book for the Fox 21 Television production.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Warcraft directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Person of Interest). ‘Genius’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Genius. The album features the film’s original music composed by Adam Cork (London Road). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 10, 2016 and physically on June 24. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Genius is directed by Michael Grandage and stars Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Laura Linney, Guy Pearce and Dominic West. The movie written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator) based on the biography Max Perkins: Editor of Genius by A. Scott Berg centers on the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between the world-renowned book editor Maxwell Perkins (who discovered F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway) and the larger-than-life literary giant Thomas Wolfe.
