Varese Sarabande has announced the latest batch of titles in the Varese CD Club series, including four new soundtrack releases. First up is the world premiere release of the original soundtrack recording of Midway. The album features the original score by John Williams. Midway directed by Jack Smight starred Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, Glenn Ford, Hal Holbrook, Toshiro Mifune, Robert Mitchum, Cliff Robertson and Robert Wagner. The title marked the last Williams score that has not received an official soundtrack release since Jaws.

‘Wrongfully Accused’ Soundtrack announced
Intrada Records has announced a sountrack album for the 1998 comedy spoof movie Wrongfully Accused. The album is limited to 1500 copies and features more than an hour of the original score by Bill Conti. To listen to audio clips from the score and order the CD, visit Intrada’s online store. Wrongfully Accused stars Leslie Nielsen as Ryan Harrison, who is framed for murder and must prove himself innocent by finding a mysterious one-eyed, one-armed, one-legged man after escaping from a bus accident on the way to jail.
John Williams’ Family Plot soundtrack release announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the first CD release of John Williams’ score for Alfred Hitchcock’s Family Plot. Only the film’s end credits has previously been released. Hitchcock’s last movie stars Bruce Dern and Barbara Harris centers around a phony psychic/con artist and her taxi driver/private investigator boyfriend who encounter a pair of serial kidnappers while trailing a missing heir in California. The Goonies score album announced
Varese Sarabande announced their latest CD club releases this morning. The latest batch includes four new albums, which can all be ordered on the Varese webpage.
One of the most requested titles in soundtrack history finally receives a CD release. To coincide with the 25th anniversary of the movie, Dave Grusin’s score for The Goonies directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielberg is limited to 5000 copies.
