WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for the Riverdale special episode Next to Normal the Musical. The album features the songs from the musical episode performed by cast members Lili Reinhart, Mädchen Amick, Jacquie Lee, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Tyson Ritter, Erinn Westbrook, Casey Cott, KJ Apa, Madelaine Petsch, Vanessa Morgan & others. The songs were originally written by Tom Kitt (music) and Brian Yorkey (lyrics) for the stage rock musical of the same title. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The label has previously released the soundtracks for the musical episodes from the previous seasons (Carrie the MusicalHeathers the Musical and Hedwig and the Angry Inch the Musical), as well as multiple other albums featuring music from the show. Sony Music Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the animated sequel The Addams Family 2. The album features the songs from the movie, including Christina Aguilera’s rendition of The Addams Family theme, tracks by Snoop Dogg & October London, Yoshi Flower, Rock Mafia & OPlus, Donna Missal and Dominic Lewis. Also included is Crazy Family by Megan Thee Stallion, Maluma & Rock Mafia (already available to stream/download as a digital single here). Film Fest Ghent has announced the expanded editions of three of its earlier albums, featuring music by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote), Shigeru Umebayashi (In the Mood for Love, House of Flying Daggers, A Single Man) and Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) respectively, reissuing them in the Music for Film album series. The three albums have been updated with newly recorded music in collaboration with the composers, and will be released during the 48th edition of Film Fest Ghent, which will take place from October 12-23. Composer, pianist and singer/songwriter Emily Bear (The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical) has written the original score for the fourth episode of the FX on Hulu anthology series The Premise. The Commenter is written Jia Tolentino & series creator B.J. Novak, directed by Darya Zhuk and stars Lola Kirke, Soko, Sylvia Grace Crim and Benjamin Clement. The episode follows a young woman with a happy life and loving partner who becomes obsessed with a critical anonymous comment online, eventually upending her life in a quest for the commenter’s approval. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antoni Komasa-Łazarkiewicz (Copying Beethoven, In Darkness, Quo Vadis, Aida?, Rosemary’s Baby, The Affair, Charlatan). The show is developed by Joe Port & Joe Wiseman based on the BBC series of the same title and stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky and Devan Chandler Long. The series revolves around a cheerful freelance journalist and up-and-coming chef who throw both caution and money to the wind when they decide to convert a rundown country estate they inherited into a bed & breakfast – only to find it’s inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home. Indie rock band Bruce Peninsula has released a soundtrack album for the Canadian drama Wildhood. The album features the film’s original music composed by the band’s vocalist/guitarist Neil Haverty (Avocado Toast the Series, Body and Bones). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Wildhood is written and directed by Bretten Hannam and stars Phillip Lewitski, Joshua Odjick, Avery Winters-Anthony and Michael Greyeyes. The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai is set to score an untitled Apple TV+ docuseries about the rise and fall of former Nissan and Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn. The 4-parter is directed by James Jones (On the President’s Orders) and – with the involvement of the people who were there, alongside the reporting of WSJ reporters Nick Kostov & Sean McLain – will tell the full story of how one of the most admired businessmen on the planet became its most famous international fugitive. James Gay-Rees (Amy, Senna, 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything), Paul Martin (Diego Maradona, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, The Kings) and Martin Conway (Becoming You) are executive producing the Box to Box Films production. Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Neil Hannon (of the band The Divine Comedy) is writing original songs for the upcoming fantasy movie Wonka. The film is directed by Paul King (Paddington) and stars Timothée Chalamet, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Mathew Baynton, Jim Carter, Tom Davi, Simon Farnaby (who also co-wrote the screenplay with King), Rich Fulcher, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar and Ellie White.
