A24 has announced a new soundtrack album for the Academy Award-winning 2016 drama Moonlight written and directed by Barry Jenkins and starring Naomie Harris, Andre Holland, Mahershala Ali, Trevante Rhodes, Janelle Monae, Alex R. Hibbert, Jaden Piner, Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome. The double vinyl deluxe box set includes the Oscar-nominated original score from the movie composed by Nicholas Britell (Succession, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Big Short, Cruella, Don’t Look Up, The Underground Railroad, Cruella, Vice), as well as the songs from the film, including eleven previously unreleased tracks, over 100 pages of never-before published photography, handwritten sheet music from Britell and an essay by Barry Jenkins. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated shorts series Ice Age: Scrat Tales. The album features the original score from the show composed by Batu Sener who has previously scored this year’s movie The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. Also included is an original end titles track composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet) who composed the music for three of the original theatrical Ice Age features. Taylor Swift has recorded an original song for the upcoming thriller Where the Crawdads Sing. The track, entitled Carolina, is written and performed by Swift and is featured in the film’s first trailer, which just premiered today and can be checked out after the jump. The movie adaptation of Delia Owens’ bestselling novel is directed by Olivia Newman and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer, Jr. and David Strathairn.
