Premiering tomorrow, May 9, is the Hulu limited event series Candy created by Robin Veith and starring Jessica Biel, Timothy Simons, Pablo Schreiber, Melanie Lynskey and Raúl Esparza. The show’s original music is composed by Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, The Tale, American Horror Stories, Rebel Hearts, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer, To Dust, The Devil Has a Name). Premiering on Wednesday, May 11, is the Netflix original documentary Our Father directed by Lucie Jourdan and produced by Jason Blum. Gregory Tripi (Ma, Manhunt: Unabomber, Warning, Rememory, Dark Places, The Fix) has composed the film’s original music. The Blumhouse production, which tells the story of a woman who – after an at-home DNA test reveals she has multiple half-siblings – discovers a shocking scheme involving donor sperm and a popular fertility doctor, will be available to stream on Netflix. Mogwai Scoring Apple TV+’s ‘Black Bird’

The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai is composing the original music for the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series Black Bird. The show is developed by Dennis Lehane (Shutter Island, The Outsider) based on the true crime memoir In with the Devil: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene & Hillel Levin and stars Taron Egerton, Paul Walter Hauser, Sepideh Moafi, Greg Kinnear and Ray Liotta. The 6-part thriller follows a high school football hero who is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison and given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend a suspected serial killer or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. ‘Pleasure’ Soundtrack Album Details

Milan Records has announced the worldwide release of the soundtrack album for the drama Pleasure. The album features the film’s original score composed by Karl Frid (Wild Nights with Emily, Crimes of Passion: Death of a Loved One, Alena, Citizen Schein). The soundtrack, which has already been available in several international territories since last fall, will be released in the U.S. and other markets next Friday, May 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two first tracks (Confutatis and Hard to the Core) are available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump. Pleasure is written and directed by Ninja Thyberg and stars Sofia Kappel, Revika Anne Reustle, Chris Cock, Evelyn Claire, Dana Dearmond and Kendra Spade. Opening in theaters nationwide this week is Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness directed by Sam Raimi and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, Benedict Wong and Rachel McAdams. The film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the French drama Happening (L’événement) co-written (based on Annie Ernaux’s novel) and directed by Audrey Diwan and starring Anamaria Vartolomei, Marcia Romano, Luàna Bajrami, Marcia Romano, Louise Orry Diquero and Louise Chevillotte. Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Scenes from a Marriage, Radioactive, Loveless, The Family, Wizard of Lies) have composed the film’s original music. This week, Ian Hultquist and Drum & Lace (Dickinson, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Dickinson, Night Teeth, Good Girls) have been recording their score for the upcoming romantic comedy Rosaline. The film is directed by Karen Maine and stars Kaitlyn Dever, Kyle Allen, Isabela Merced, Minnie Driver, Christopher McDonald and Bradley Whitford. The movie is based on Rebecca Serle’s 2010 novel When You Were Mine. The movie is being described as a comedic retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin, Rosaline, who happens to be Romeo’s ex. Warp Records has released the main title theme from the Apple TV+ original docuseries They Call Me Magic. The track is written by Flying Lotus and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Kemosabe Records & RCA Records have released the first song from the soundtrack for the biographical drama Elvis. The track, entitled Vegas, produced by Yeti Beats & Rogét Chahayed and featuring a sample of Hound Dog written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller (and later covered by Elvis Presley) is co-written and performed by Doja Cat and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. ‘Shining Girls’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Shining Girls. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Claudia Sarne (The Book of Eli, Triple 9, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Earthquake Bird, Broken City). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 27, 2022 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. The composer’s opening credits theme (Playground) is already available now and can be checked out after the jump. Shining Girls is developed by Silka Luisa based on the novel of the same title by Lauren Beukes and stars Elisabeth Moss, Jamie Bell, Wagner Moura, Phillipa Soo and Amy Brenneman. The 8-part thriller follows a Chicago newspaper archivist who learns that a recent murder is linked to a traumatic assault she experienced in the past and teams with a veteran reporter to understand her ever-changing present and confront her past. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the BBC series Life After Life. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Adrift, Hotel Mumbai, Stowaway, The Old Guard, Ammonite, Patrick Melrose, Your Honor). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Life After Life is written by Bash Doran based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Kate Atkinson and stars Thomasin McKenzie, Sian Clifford, James McArdle, Jessica Hynes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Patsy Ferran, Harry Michell, Joshua Hill and Maria Laird.
