Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the dystopian war drama Civil War written and directed by Alex Garland and starring Kirsten Dunst, Cailee Spaeny, Wagner Moura, Nick Offerman and Stephen McKinley Henderson. The film’s original music is composed by Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Devs, Luce, Annihilation, Archive 81, Men, Hanna, Free Fire). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be released next Friday, April 19. Also opening wide is the Australian horror thriller Sting written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner and starring Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Jermaine Fowler, Penelope Mitchell, Noni Hazelhurst, Robyn Nevin, Danny Kim and Silvia Colloca. Anna Drubich (Barbarian,  Fear Street Part 3: 1666, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Werewolves Within) has composed the film’s original music. Jason Hill (Mindhunter, The Confession Killer, City on Fire, Voir, Extrapolations, Love, Death & Robots) is scoring the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Dark Matter. The show is created by Blake Crouch (Good Behavior, Wayward Pines) based on his bestselling book of the same title and stars Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Dayo Okeniyi, Jimmi Simpson and Oakes Fegley. The 9-part sci-fi thriller centers on a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home in Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life and has to try to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. The album features the film’s original score composed by Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Woke, Desperation Road, I Am Wrath). The 6-track EP features selections of the show’s original music composed by Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Scenes from a Marriage, Loveless, Radioactive, Wizard of Lies, Happening, The Family). Milan Records has announced Challengers [MIXED], a special mix featuring music from the score to Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers composed by Academy Award winners Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Watchmen, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Mank), newly reworked by renowned DJ and producer Boys Noize who was hand-selected by the duo to create a continuous DJ set. Included on the record is Compress / Repress, an original vocal song featuring lyrics written by Guadagnino. The album is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms. Challengers starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor & Mike Faist follows a former tennis prodigy turned coach married to a champion on a losing streak whose strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against a washed-up player who happens to be her former boyfriend.
