Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the animated feature Stitch Head written and directed by Steve Hudson and starring Asa Butterfield, Joel Fry, Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman, Tia Bannon, Fern Brady and Jamali Maddix. The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Paddington, Crazy, Stupid, Love., Focus, Little Miss Sunshine, Quiz Lady, Animal Control, Ruby Sparks). Air-Edel Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as several original songs co-written by Hudson earlier this month. Opening semi-wide in around 900 theaters is the psychological thriller Anniversary directed by Jan Komasa and starring Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Phoebe Dynevor, Madeline Brewer, Zoey Deutch, Daryl McCormack, Mckenna Grace and Dylan O’Brien. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Black Rabbit, Speak No Evil, The Outsider, Enemy, The Gift, Presumed Innocent, The Staircase, The White Tiger, Tulsa King, Smoke, Boy Erased) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score this past Wednesday. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese drama Night Flower. The album features the film’s original score composed by Yohei Kobayashi (Matching, A Stitch of Life). Also included is a track by Japanese pianist/composer Hayato Sumino. Walt Disney Records has announced the premiere vinyl release of the soundtrack for the 2000 animated classic The Emperor’s New Groove directed by Mark Dindal and starring David Spade, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton, Eartha Kitt and Wendie Malick. The album features the film’s original songs written by Sting & David Hartley, as well as six tracks from the animated faeture’s original score composed by John Debney (The Jungle Book, Hocus Pocus, The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2) . The soundtrack, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 25th anniversary, will be released as 2-LP set pressed on lemonade and grape color vinyl on November 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
