Disney has revealed that the studio will submit the original song Wild Uncharted Waters from the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid for awards consideration. The song written by the film’s composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Enchanted) and featuring lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Moana, Encanto) is performed on screen by Jonah Hauer-King. It is one of three original songs from the movie, the others being For the First Time performed by Halle Bailey and The Scuttlebutt performed by Awkwafina & Daveed Diggs. David Boman (Moonshot, Wyrm, Please Hold) has provided the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy What Happens Later. The film marks the second directorial effort of actress Meg Ryan and stars Ryan herself and David Duchovny. The movie is based on the play Shooting Star by Steven Dietz and follows two ex-lovers who are reunited for the first time since their split decades prior when they both find themselves snowed in at an airport overnight. Milan Records has announced a first soundtrack album for the Prime Video original series The Wheel of Time. The Volume 1 album is the first of an eventual two volumes of original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, His Dark Materials, Black Widow, Black Adam, Top Gun: Maverick, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves). The conceptual album features 11 key theme tracks, each tailored to a different character in the new season. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, September 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (Egwene al’Vere) is already available to stream/download now and can also be checked out after the jump. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the manga One Piece have been revealed. The album features the show’s original score composed by Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli (The WitcherThe Mist, The Thing About Pam, The Romanoffs, Sacred Lies). Also included are the songs from the series written by the composers, including My Sails Are Set feat. AURORA, which has already been released as a digital single last week (listen to the full track below). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 31 by Netflix Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Composer Graham Reynolds is reuniting with director Richard Linklater on the upcoming crime comedy Hit Man. The film starring Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio & Retta revolves around a philosophy professor by day, lecturing his students on theories of morality, while – in his downtime – also works with the police in surveillance vans as a tech-savvy staff investigator during undercover sting operations.
